We always like to acknowledge staff achievements but this one is the big one!!🎉🎉

All of us at Dalton Pardoe would like to wish Jack a MASSIVE congratulations on passing his final ICAEW Chartered Exam (The dreaded Case Study).

Jack can now call himself a Chartered Accountant after roughly 9 years of constant training and exams (No easy feat).

We know how hard he has worked for this and its thoroughly deserved and we could not be happier for him.

Well done Jack, you can finally have a night off from studying.🤩🍺

Starting 6 April 2027, UK property and savings income will face a 2 percentage point tax increase across all bands.

Separate property income tax rates become 22% (basic), 42% (higher), and 47% (additional), mirroring the exact same 22%, 42%, and 47% rates applied to non-savings income.

HMRC has announced that, starting in September, it will sign up those taxpayers who should have joined MTD in April this year but haven’t yet registered.

Considering purchasing an Electric car through your business in the next 6-12 months?

The 100% First-Year Allowance (FYA) on brand-new, zero-emission (electric) cars and electric vehicle charge points ends on 31 March 2027 for Corporation Tax and 5 April 2027 for Income Tax.

After these dates, relief for new electric cars will default to the standard Writing Down Allowance (WDA) main pool rate of 14%.

What this means is if you purchase a new Electric car for £60,000 before 31st March you could get tax relief up to £15,900 in year 1. However from April onwards, this tax relief in year 1 would drop to a maximum of £2,226.

Therefore timing and not being aware of this changes can be crucial.

David Lloyd’s VAT appeal failed to shape up at the first tier tribunal after it argued its leisure club supplies qualified for reduced-rate VAT. The tribunal found the supplies were not similar enough to cultural events or facilities.
