Emily from SSNAP (Support for the Sick Newborn and their Parents) popped into the office this week to collect a cheque for £6,563, presented by our Technical Director, Alan.

This total is the result of a year of fundraising efforts from our team, from endurance challenges to office raffles (and everything in between!).

SSNAP do incredible work supporting sick newborns and their families across Oxfordshire, and it’s a cause that means a great deal to us, especially as Alan and his family experienced their support first-hand when his daughter Daisy was born prematurely.

Thank you to everyone who supported us along the way 💜

Inheritance tax relief threshold to rise to £2.5m: What farmers & business owners need to know 💡

From 6th April 2026, the threshold for Agricultural Property Relief (APR) and Business Property Relief (BPR) will rise from £1 million to £2.5 million. This means:

✅ If you own a qualifying farm or business, you can pass on up to £2.5 million of those assets with potentially no inheritance tax under these reliefs (increased from the previous £1 million cap)
✅ If you’re married or in a civil partnership, you may be able to combine your allowances, meaning you could pass on up to £5 million of qualifying farm or business assets without inheritance tax
✅ This is in addition to the usual inheritance tax allowances, like the standard £325,000 nil-rate band

While this announcement is framed around farming, it also matters for many owner-managed businesses. This is especially relevant if you are:

✅ A farming family estate with land/property value above £1m
✅ A trading business owner thinking about succession
✅ A family business where shares/business assets form a large part of the estate
✅ A couple planning their wills and estate structure together

We’re over the moon that we have raised £6,563 for our 2025 charity partner, SSNAP 🎉

SSNAP is an incredible charity based in Oxford that provides vital support for sick newborns and their parents.

Over the past year, our team have gone all in - taking on the Oxford Half Marathon, walking the entire distance from John O’Groats to Land’s End via a virtual walking challenge, plus plenty of raffles along the way - all in support of this incredible charity 👏

This cause is especially close to our hearts, as our Technical Director, Alan, received vital support from SSNAP when his daughter Daisy was born prematurely. It’s been a real privilege to support such a special organisation 💜

Huge well done to our team for their hard work, and a massive thank you to everyone who sponsored us, cheered us on, and backed our fundraising along the way 🙌
