*SCAM Calls, Emails, Text messages etc*
Please, everyone be aware, especially at this time of year (but, all year regardless). The Sca(u)mmers are most likely to catch you out during the Festive months. On any of your contactable details.
(1). Whether it’s calls, texts, emails or some other form of contact details.
(2). It’s more than likely about a missed delivery, or high frequency on your bank account, HMRC a tax rebate. The list goes on.
(3) Just please all be vigilante. They have no feelings, or morals about what they will or have done to you.
(4). Do not, and I repeat, DO NOT, ever be bullied into anything that you feel uncomfortable with. If you have a doubt. Tell them to call back later.
(5) Call your own bank, or service provider. Check your Amazon, Temu, Hermes, or whatever account it may be proffering to be from.
(6) Never, I repeat, NEVER, give your personal information. Especially your bank or credit cards details. No Government Department, Banking or Financial Institution, or any of your other Service Provider would or will ask for these details.
I’ve had countless recently, mostly about missed deliveries. I haven’t ordered anything for a long time. Except maybe food deliveries.
Today it was supposedly HMRC calling me. Asking me to take part in a survey, all about my recent experience or with them, or words to that effect. The script is different for each one.
I deal with HMRC quite often, so when I politely declined, knowing what I know, and told them the facts. They were very quick to back track and hang up.
But remember, I repeat, REMEMBER a good scammer will try to keep you on the line and explain everything. Don’t let them.
