My aim was to have self assessment wrapped up by close of play today for 2024/2025. Can we succeed?

ps I’ll be filing our partnerships using third party software this coming Monday.

9 working days remain for Lord & Swain in January with the self assessment deadline fast approaching. Then we turn our attention to ‘Making Tax Digital’

12/01/2026

We’re into the last three weeks before the self assessment deadline. Chop chop stragglers…..

04/01/2026

Just to make you aware we’re having to charge £50 per director to meet the new digital ID verification requirements. Each company has an individual deadline but in brief it coincides with your confirmation statement.

📣 Important update for all limited companies and new start-ups

From 1 February 2026, Companies House will be increasing several key filing fees. A few of the most relevant changes include:

▪️ Confirmation statement (digital): £50
▪️ Voluntary strike off (digital): £13

These changes are part of a wider effort to modernise systems, strengthen identity verification, and improve action against fraud under the ECCT Act.

What does this mean for small businesses? 🤔
Nothing urgent right now... but it’s worth being aware, especially if you’re planning to incorporate, restructure, or tidy up company records in the next year.

We’ll keep clients updated as more details are released and help you stay compliant without unnecessary stress.
