Busy vs. Profitable: Which one are you? 💸✨

Think being "fully booked" is the ultimate goal? Think again! A packed diary doesn't always mean a healthy bank account. 🏦

If you’re working long days but still feel like you're just standing still, you don't have a workload problem—you have a pricing problem. 📉➡️📈

The Reality Check:

If you had to redo your last few jobs today, would you charge more? 🧐 If the answer is yes, it's time for a change!

Why it matters - more work = more profit ❌

Small price tweaks > Extra hours ⏳✅

Fair pay = Sustainable success 🏆

Stop chasing "busy" and start charging for your value! 💎💼

Have you heard of Marriage allowance? What is Marriage Allowance?

Marriage Allowance is a tax benefit that allows you to transfer £1,260 of your Personal Allowance to your wife, husband or civil partner.

Many couples are missing out on the Marriage Allowance—a simple tax benefit that could save you up to £252 per tax year.

What is it?
Marriage Allowance allows you to transfer £1,260 of your Personal Allowance to your husband, wife, or civil partner, provided they pay income tax. To qualify, the lower earner must typically have an income below the Personal Allowance threshold of £12,570.

It’s an easy win for your household finances. You can find more details on the official gov.uk website here.

Does your business run on your energy alone? ⚡️

It’s a common trap, you start a business for freedom, but you end up creating a job where you’re the only employee. If you stop, everything stops. The cash flow might be stable, but the pressure is exhausting.

The good news? It doesn’t have to stay that way.

In this video, I’m sharing the first simple step to transition from being the "doer" of every task to being the leader of a resilient, flexible business.

It starts with one question: Does this task really need to be done by me?

👇 Tell me in the comments - What’s one task you do every week that you’d love to pass on to someone else?

Don't let your next tax bill be a surprise! 📉

If you're self-employed, you've likely seen 'Payments on Account' (POA) on your tax statement. But do you know exactly how it works?

HMRC uses POAs to help you spread the cost of your tax across the year, rather than facing one massive lump sum in January.

In our blog, we break down:

✅ Who needs to pay (and who is exempt)
✅ The key deadlines: 31st January & 31st July
✅ How to reduce your payments if your income drops
✅ Easy ways to pay using your UTR

Staying informed means better cash flow management for your business.

📈 The 'Big 3' - What Every Business Owner Needs to Know

You don’t have to be an accounts expert to run a successful business. Most founders start because they’re passionate about what they do—not because they love spreadsheets.

But to know if your business is truly healthy or just keeping you busy, there are three key numbers you should always be able to answer without hesitation -

1. Monthly Revenue - Exactly how much is the business bringing in each month?
2. Net Profit - How much of that revenue are you actually keeping?
3. Available Cash - How much cash do you have on hand to keep operations running?

Why These Matter

These figures provide a clear picture of your performance, profitability, and stability. Without them, it's easy to mistake a full diary for a successful business.

The Outcome

Reviewing these numbers regularly, even at a high level, leads to:

✅ Calmer, more deliberate decisions
✅ Less reacting to short-term pressure
✅ Sustainable growth

Better numbers lead to better decisions, and better decisions lead to a business that actually works for you.

The Making Tax Digital (MTD) Roadmap

If you are a UK sole trader or landlord, 6 April 2026 isn't just another date in the diary—it’s the biggest shake-up to the UK tax system in a generation.

HMRC is officially moving to Making Tax Digital (MTD). This means the days of a single, once-a-year filing are numbered. For many, "tax season" is about to become a quarterly event.

Who is affected first?

👉 If your combined self-employed and property income is over £50,000, you are in the first wave (starting April 2026).
👉 If you’re over £30,000, your turn is April 2027.
👉 If you’re over £20,000, it’s April 2028.

What do you need to do?

You’ll need to keep digital records and send quarterly updates using HMRC-approved software. No more spreadsheets, no more shoeboxes of receipts, and no more January panic!

🚨 SCAM WARNING FOR NEW COMPANIES 🚨

We’ve recently seen documents like the one pictured being sent to newly incorporated businesses, requesting payment to publish company details in a public register.

❌ You do NOT need to pay to have your company listed on the Companies House register.
❌ These letters are designed to look official and can easily be mistaken for genuine correspondence.

Before making any payment, always:
✔ Check who the letter is from
✔ Verify any requests through official GOV.UK channels
✔ Contact your accountant if you’re unsure

If you receive a letter like this, do not make payment until you’ve verified its authenticity.

Please share this post to help other business owners avoid becoming victims of these misleading requests.
