In a bid to quell the turmoil that has ensued in the financial markets since the mini Budget, Liz Truss has confirmed that the corporation tax rate will increase to 25% from the current 19% rate.

The government has announced that MTD ITSA will now be introduced in phases from 6 April 2026. While ICAEW welcomes this deferral, it is concerned that more time may not solve the fundamental design and policy problems that have been identified over the past year.
