As the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme comes to an end this month it is time to take stock.

Over 32 weeks since March our staff have worked diligently to process over 260 furlough claims for nearly 60 companies claiming back a total of £454, 457.92 for our clients. This in turn has supported over 100 employees in the local area to keep them in employment during this difficult time.

As this scheme winds down and is replaced by the Job Support Scheme (JSS) we would like to thank our staff and clients for their continued support and cooperation and to encourage anyone who feels they may be eligible for support to contact us and we will be more than happy to assist wherever possible.

With the furlough scheme coming to an end in October the attention shifts to the governments job retention scheme bonus which rewards employers with £1000 for every furloughed staff member still employed come February.

We are pleased to confirm that as of Monday 18th May we will be back to our normal opening hours of 9-5 Monday to Friday. For the duration of the current suggested public restrictions our temporary opening hours will be 10am - 4pm Monday to Friday.

As part of measures designed to alleviate the pressure on businesses during the coronavirus outbreak the new reforms to IR35 regarding off-payroll workers, which dictates the ways in which freelance workers are considered as employees, has now been delayed to 6th April 2021

The government has today released a list of those it deems to be 'key workers' whose children are still able to attend school. The list includes:
* Health and social care - This includes both frontline doctors, nurses, social workers etc. and also support staff such as hospital porters and those in the medical supply chain like pharmaceutical companies and ppe manufacturers
* Education - Teachers and nursery staff
* key public services - This includes those in the justice system, undertakers, religious ministers, journalists and broadcasters.
* Local Government - People in administrative occupations essential to the effective delivery of the Covid-19 response or delivering essential public services including payment of benefits.
* Food - Anyone involved in the sale, transport or manufacture of food
* Public Safety - Includes emergency services, the army and parole services
* Transport - Both public and private
* Utilities, communication and financial services - Staff required to keep oil, gas, electricity, water and sewerage operations running are on the list, along with those in the civil nuclear, chemical and telecommunications sectors. Those in postal services and working to provide essential financial services provision are also included.

Due to the current health climate we are asking that all clients please ring the office to make an appointment before coming in to minimise crowding in our reception area. Additionally if you are simply dropping paperwork off, and do not need to see an accountant or member of our reception team, then this can be done via one of two letter boxes located to the side of the building. These measures are in place to protect both staff and clients.

We appreciate your cooperation and support during this time. We are committed to staying open and will do our best to accommodate all our clients needs whilst adhering to our usual high standards.
