Many of my clients have their own DIY investment platforms but one of the main reasons for employing a financial advisor is to help manage emotions. In states of extreme emotion our cognitive power is reduced by 13%. This can prevent individuals from staying the course even though their objectives have not changed.

Employing experienced fund managers, their teams of analysts and working alongside a financial advisor are great ways of reducing behavioral biases and staying true to your long term objectives!

For reference my own portfolio has over 18 fund managers within it!

GME/ GameStop... If you’ve seen any financial press in the past two weeks you’re likely to have seen articles about the stratospheric rise and swift decline of it’s share price.
For the more seasoned investors amongst you, you’ll have seen examples of this before and been cautious. But for my generation & many young retail investors this could have been your first risky foray into investing.
I maintain that instead of trying to get rich quick, you’re better off building wealth over the medium to long term by making use of tax allowances & relief, compound interest and a well diversified strategy!!
