When it comes to Making Tax Digital, the vast majority of submissions aren't being made by business owners themselves.

96% were submitted by accountants or agents.
Just 4% were submitted by clients.

And here's the other stat that caught our eye...

60% of submissions were made in the final seven days before the deadline.

So what does that tell us?

MTD isn't something most businesses are choosing to tackle alone - and leaving things until the last minute is still incredibly common.

The good news? It doesn't have to be stressful.

A huge thank you to the 50+ clients who got their information back to us on time. You’ve made a very busy deadline a whole lot smoother for the team!

Meet Becky

We're delighted to welcome Becky to the Harrison Hinchliffe team as our new Bookkeeper.

Before joining Harrison Hinchliffe last week, Becky built up a wealth of experience in finance, primarily working in credit control. Before relocating to Glossop from Peterborough in 2015, she was the Revenue and Reservations Manager at an IHG hotel.

When it comes to starting the day, it's coffee before emails, and if she had to choose, she'd pick a calculator over Excel.

One thing her new teammates should know? Becky admits she's a little accident-prone! A fun fact that not many people know is that she used to be a ballroom dancer.

We're really pleased to have Becky on board and look forward to seeing her settle into the team.

Wishing You All the Best, Dec!

After almost 11 years with Harrison Hinchliffe, it’s time to say goodbye to Declan as he starts an exciting new chapter.

Since joining us in 2015, Dec has been a valued member of the team, building great relationships with our clients and colleagues alike. His hard work, dedication have made a real impact, and he will be missed by everyone here.

While we’re sad to see him go, we’re incredibly grateful for everything he’s contributed over the years and couldn’t be happier for him as he begins his new role.

From all of us at Harrison Hinchliffe, thank you for everything, Dec. We wish you every success and happiness in your new job…we’re sure you’ll be brilliant.
