Reminder: Check your state pension record with HMRC for any gaps, or years that are not fully paid.

Currently, any gaps can be 'topped up' dating back to 2006. However, from 6 April you will only be able to back date to 2019.

This could therefore impact on your entitlement to state pension

Find out if you've paid enough National Insurance to qualify for the full State Pension - check gaps, contributions and credits, get a National Insurance statement, call the helpline.

Tax Tips!
Company directors with an outstanding loan to the company (or directors account) can be paid interest on this loan. Provided this remains at a rate that is commercial, then this remains deductible against company profits for corporation tax.
The interest must be actually paid to the director; it cannot simply be a 'book' entry.
The director should also include this interest on their personal tax return, in the same manor for any savings interest income etc, however if this remains within the director's personal savings allowance, there will also be no tax to pay on this income.
