What incredible generosity yesterday shown by everyone who stopped to donate and show support to us in Sainsbury's Ferndown, as we held another of our 'Supermarket Sweep' donation days.

Your support means we can sustain our food and essentials help for those in the community who are struggling.

Have you got any spooklious plans this half term, why not come along to the free kids craft sessions at the Barrington, Ferndown on Tuesday 27th October - 11am-3pm and Friday 30th October - 12pm-4pm.
There is no need to book, pop along and join us, grab a refreshment at the same time. Lets get the kids being creative and have some fun too.

A massive thank you to those who attended our Halloween Quiz night on Thursday 15th October and especially Debbie and her daughter Tia who, as always, were amazing quiz masters and Isobel for her invaluable help, as well as our volunteers who organised the event.
10 teams and a super raffle helped raise £391.20, what an enjoyable and fun night and of course congratulations to the winning team.

Tonight's the night! Our Halloween Quiz night is upon us! We cant wait to cogitate the conundrums, and the stretch the synapses with you all!

Ferndown Fella’s Walk and Talk, you have made our day/week/month! This is so wonderful, we cannot thank you enough for all of your generosity in supporting the community. We know only too well that mental health, physical health, community connection, and poverty and difficulty can all create a negative spiral and leave people in crisis in so many ways. But when we work together, regardless of income, need, love or any manner of these things, each of us can bring something to the table to start to solve and end this for our community, or simply provide the resilience and joy that we all need. We cant wait to continue working together with you, and look forward to hearing about your adventures!

Thank you Orchid House Surgery and the PPG group for a wonderful Wellbeing Event at the weekend!

We met lots of lovely residents, supporters, volunteers and potential volunteers too!

And, equally as good, it was a superb event to connect with lots of other lovely organisations doing wonderful things in the local area.

And, to top it all off, we raised our first £102 towards MISSION SANTA SACKS 2026!

These really are truly amazing, and we're so grateful to have been the recipients of some of these at the food bank and our community support services too for our clients. They are also very beneficial for people with ASD, anxiety and adhd. Thank you so much all you wonderful knitters, and to Douch for wool provision x

Did you know that the little crochet octopuses our wonderful ladies create can be a lovely source of comfort for people living with dementia?

Their soft texture and tentacles give people something familiar to hold, fiddle with and interact with, providing a calming sensory experience and something to focus on.

For someone living with dementia, simple things can bring reassurance, comfort and connection.

A huge thank you to our amazing Knit & Knatter ladies, who lovingly create these beautiful pieces for us to donate. 🧶
