Student Loan Thresholds Announced – 6th April 2024 Onwards

The student loans threshold has been confirmed by the Department for Education for 6th April 2024 for both Plan Type 1 and 2.
From 6th April 2024 the repayment threshold for pre-2012 loans (Plan 1) will rise to £24,990.
From April 2024 the income threshold for post-2012 (Plan 2) will remain frozen at £27,295.

Do you know the personal tax thresholds?
Personal tax allowance, sometimes referred to as ‘tax free allowance’ is the amount you are allowed to earn in a given tax year before you start paying income tax.
Personal allowance for 2023/2024 tax year remains at £12,570. This is frozen until 2026.
The higher rate of income tax threshold for 2023/2024 is £50,270. This is frozen until 2026.
The income tax additional rate threshold at which you will not have any personal allowance because £1 of the personal allowance is withdrawn for every £2 of income above £100,0000.

Today we spent the day reviewing our internal processes as we have grown the team and clients, we needed to reflect this in our processes and systems. We put into play a technique we use every day on our Consultancy projects, looking at the ‘AS IS’ versus the ‘TO BE’ processes of our payroll.
