Thinking about accessing your pension?

Before making any decisions, it’s important to consider how it could affect your wider financial plans.

Here are three key things to think about:

✔️ How pension withdrawals fit into your overall financial plan
✔️ The potential income tax implications
✔️ Whether accessing your pension could affect future pension contributions

A clear plan can help you make the most of your options while avoiding unintended consequences.

Last Thursday, members of the Francis Clark Financial Planning team attended the Belfry Classic Golf Day, which raised over £100,000 for the Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association and Hospitality Action.

It was a brilliant event supporting a fantastic charity and raising awareness for a cause that means a great deal to many people.

The event also followed on from the recent fundraising efforts of our Managing Director, Chris Reah, who completed three marathons in support of the MND Association.

Well done to everyone involved in making the day such a success.

Many people avoid investing because they think:

✔️ It’s only for wealthy people
✔️ You need expert financial knowledge
✔️ It’s simply too risky

But these common myths can sometimes stop people from growing their retirement savings over the long term.

Investing can often start with small, regular amounts, and with the right support, it doesn’t have to feel overwhelming.

The important thing is understanding what approach is right for you and your future goals.

Many parents want to help their children financially, even as adults.

But it’s important to make sure that support doesn’t affect your own long-term plans.

Here are a few ways to help while staying on track:

✔️ Share your knowledge and experience
✔️ Use tax-efficient gifting where possible
✔️ Know what you can afford before giving
✔️ Consider support that isn’t cash (like a place to stay)

With a bit of planning, you can support your family and still feel confident about your future.

If your business depends on certain people, it’s worth thinking about what would happen if they were no longer there.

𝗪𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗯𝗲 𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗸𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝗿𝘂𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗹?

Business protection insurance can help give you time, support and financial stability if the unexpected happens.

Some things to consider:

✔️ Could your business continue without key people?
✔️ Would client relationships or income be affected?
✔️ Could you repay any outstanding loans?
✔️ Who would take control of the business?

Taking time to review your position now can help protect your plans for the future.
