📢 New HMRC Advisory Fuel Rates are now in effect

HMRC has published its latest Advisory Fuel Rates (AFRs), effective from 1 September 2026, for employees using company cars for business travel.

There are several changes from the previous rates:
⚡ Petrol over 2,000cc: increased from 26p to 27p per mile
⚡ Diesel 1,601–2,000cc: reduced from 17p to 16p per mile
⚡ Diesel over 2,000cc: reduced from 23p to 22p per mile
⚡ LPG over 2,000cc: reduced from 21p to 20p per mile

The new rates are used to:
✔️ Reimburse employees for business mileage in company cars
✔️ Calculate repayments where employers provide fuel for private mileage
✔️ Help keep mileage payments tax-efficient and compliant with HMRC guidance

If your business operates company vehicles, now is a good time to review your mileage reimbursement rates and payroll processes to ensure you’re using the latest figures.

On Saturday, the Armstrongs team took part in the World Corporate Games at the University of Warwick ⚽

We may not have taken home the football trophy, but it was a fantastic day for everyone involved.

A massive well done to everyone who took part and represented Armstrongs!

We’re also continuing to raise money for Tommy’s, supporting their vital work with families affected by pregnancy and baby loss.

Meet the Team | Georgina

Georgina joined Armstrongs in January 2024 as HR Manager. She has extensive experience across all aspects of human resources and plays a key role in supporting both the firm's people and its continued growth.

Georgina oversees the firm's internal and external HR function, managing recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, training and development, and HR compliance. She is the first point of contact for recruitment, careers and all people-related matters, ensuring colleagues and candidates receive a positive and supportive experience.

Outside of work, Georgina enjoys spending time with her family, exploring new places and relaxing with a nice glass of wine.
