HMRC scraps MTD for Corporation Tax!

HMRC has confirmed that Making Tax Digital for Corporation Tax (MTD for CT) will not be going ahead.

Instead, HMRC said that it is “developing an approach to the future administration of CT that is suited to the varying needs of the diverse CT population”. We shall have to wait to see what plans they come up with there!

MTD for income tax (MTD IT) is still going from April 2026 for those sole traders or landlords with a gross income above £50,000.

Partnerships are currently excluded from MTD but are expected to be included at some point in the future.

Tomorrow, Friday 7th February, our offices will close for the day at midday while we go for our delayed office Christmas meal at The Ropemakers in Emsworth. 🎅🍽🍷

We had to cancel our plans in December due to illness, couldn't go in January as that is busy Tax Return season, so we are looking forward to our afternoon out tomorrow. 🥂
