It is with shock and sadness that we are writing to advise you of the sudden passing of our colleague and close friend Michael Wilson.

Michael was a highly valued member of our team—loyal, dedicated, and someone we had known and respected for many years through his previous role in banking. He originally joined us to assist with a one-off task, but quickly became an integral part of our team and remained with us ever since.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew him and indeed those of us who had the privilege of working with him.

Our heartfelt condolences go to his wife Monina, his children David, Cathy, Jayne and Clare, and the wider family circle at this very difficult time.

My husband, Iain, lost his big bro, Stuart, to cancer about 18 months ago having been diagnosed with ocular melanoma, a rare, aggressive eye cancer. Stuart found great joy in his work as a lorry driver for Flanagan’s Flooring Company. He loved driving through the scenic roads of southern Ireland, delivering not just flooring, but kindness and unforgettable conversations. He knew people by name, remembered their stories, and made lasting friendships. As they were both keen cyclists in their youth and to honour his memory and the things he loved most, Iain with be undertaking a charity cycle in his name, retracing the lorry route he loved and drove with pride for Flanagan Flooring 🚲
The route will take him from Cork back to Flannagan Flooring in Saintfield. The approx. mileage is 520, starting on Saturday 16th August, aiming to complete by the following Saturday.

By supporting Ocular Melanoma UK through Stuart’s Legacy Ride, we are helping to continue the fight against this devastating rare disease.
