We’re celebrating our people!

Tomorrow, Friday 22nd May 2026, we’ll be coming together for our annual Abacus Awards – a moment to recognise the achievements, dedication and impact of our people across the business.

It’s an important date in our calendar and one we genuinely look forward to. Our people are at the heart of everything we do and this is our opportunity to celebrate them.

As the whole team will be involved, our usual services will be paused for the day. We’ll respond to any enquiries when we return on Monday 25th May 2026.

During this in-person session, we will guide you through the core areas that matter in practice. We will also cover the key aspects of employment law, alongside recent and upcoming changes, so you know what to expect and how to prepare.

The focus throughout is on real-world application. We will highlight common risks for SMEs and how to avoid them, with time for discussion and questions as we go.

You will leave with a clearer understanding of your responsibilities, greater confidence in managing your people, and practical templates that you can use in your business straight away.

Here’s something you’re going to be hearing a lot about over the next few years - e-invoicing.

E-invoicing will be mandatory from 2029, but it might not mean what you think…

An e-invoice is sent straight from one accounting system to another - no emails, no PDFs, and no manual copying.

From what’s been announced so far, this will apply to VAT invoices for B2B and B2G transactions.

There’s more detail to come at the 2026 Budget, but for now it’s simply a sign of where things are heading as tax systems continue to move online.
