I hope you are well and as another year comes to an end I want to take the opportunity to wish you and your family a Happy Christmas and New Year.

Once again I want to thank you for recommending my services to friends and family, this has been a great help and is integral to my business. I have appeared in the Vouched For most recommended adviser as distributed in the Telegraph and Times for the 10th year so your support is much appreciated!

Looking ahead to 2026 most forecasts point to mortgage rates easing or stabilising. However, the exact path remains sensitive to inflation, economic data, and market conditions so hopefully this should feed through into cheaper deals when it comes to remortgaging but there are no guarantees!!

As expected the Bank of England has reduced the base rate to 4.5% which is good news!

Hoping that this will now start to feed through to lower fixed rates!

As another year draws to a close I wanted to take this opportunity to wish you and your family a Happy Christmas and New year!!

I also wanted to say a huge thank you to all my clients that have recommended me to family and friends throughout the year. As you know this is integral to my business and as a result and for the 9th year I will be in the Vouched For most recommended mortgage advisor recognition distributed by the Times and Telegraph in 2025.

2024 has seen a year where we have finally seen the Bank of England start to reduce the base rate however as I write there are still headwinds that make 2025 difficult to predict in terms of how quickly rates will continue to fall.

A key factor in mortgage rate predictions is inflation. If inflation remains on an upward trend the Bank of England may keep rates elevated longer to curb it. On the other hand, if inflation stabilizes or falls then the Bank may have room to lower rates which could help bring down mortgage rates. No one has a crystal ball so fingers crossed things move in the right direction!

Good news ! Bank of England have reduced the base rate to 4.75%

Britain's economy is moving in the right direction for the Bank of England to start cutting interest rates, Governor Andrew Bailey said on Thursday as two of his colleagues dropped their votes for a rate hike.
