As businesses grow, the role of an accountant naturally changes too.

For many established business owners, compliance is already handled. Records are organised, software is in place, and reporting exists.

The real value comes from having a trusted financial sounding board, someone who understands the reality behind decisions, growth plans, and long-term goals.

That’s often the point where accountancy moves beyond transactions and becomes ongoing strategic support.

Sustainable growth rarely comes from good vibes alone.

It comes from understanding how your business is performing and using that to guide decisions throughout the year.

Thats where regular financial reviews stand out.

Not as a reporting exercise, but as a way to stay aligned with business performance and personal priorities.

Good advisory accounting connects numbers and decisions, so you can grow intentionally, not accidentally.

In 2025, we were asked to speak on something we thought we already “knew inside out.”

But being asked to articulate what we stand for as founders forced us to crystallise our business beliefs, our definition of success, and what a good accountant can really do to support business growth.

Stepping out of your comfort zone isn’t just scary. its how you gain insight, and confidence in your business.

Now, we’re clear on exactly what we bring to the table for founders, and it’s helped us shape our business offering to better support work-life balance, freedom, and growth.

We walked away proud, not for the stage, but because we knew what we’re building, why, and how.

✨ What’s the one thing you’ve been avoiding that could give you clarity in your business?

If you feel behind in January, you’re probably just… human.

Every year we’re told:
“New year, new you.”
“Make this your best year yet.”
“Why you’re already behind.”

But January is cold, dark, and most business owners are coming off their busiest season. It’s not the moment for big strategy, it’s the moment for recovery and reflection.

🌷Nature doesn’t reset in January either.
Everything rests, restores and quietly prepares for what comes next.

That’s why at myQuarterly we plan around the ✨financial year✨ not the calendar year.

April brings more energy, clearer numbers and the perfect moment to plan your profit and your next phase of growth.

(And yes, we’re accountants, so of course we love a good financial year. But it works for every business owner who wants more control and less chaos.)

We’re seeing the same themes come through from established business owners who are ready to grow:

✅ They’re scaling fast and want proactive accounting support

✅ They want to understand what their numbers actually mean

✅ They’re tired of accountants who only focus on tax returns and payroll

✅ They want real-time financial insight, not outdated reports

And that’s exactly what we do.

At myQuarterly, we work with ambitious business owners who already have traction, but want:

✨ Better cash flow clarity

✨ Smarter pricing decisions

✨ Confident forecasting

✨ And a business that actually supports their lifestyle

If you’re growing, scaling, or simply ready to stop guessing and start making confident financial decisions, you’re in the right place.

One of our most unconventional success metrics this year? ✨Monthly facials. ✨

Of course, revenue goals matter.
But without a purpose behind them, they can start to feel a bit… aimless.

Numbers on a screen don’t always translate into a life you feel good living.

For some of our clients, that looks like:
🌵Working from anywhere
🌵Working fewer days
🌵Travelling more

You might have these goals too. BUT...

Have you got specific?
🍉How many weeks (or months) a year do you want to work from Spain or Bali?
🍉Mondays off? Half days on Fridays?
🍉Does “travel more” mean longer holidays… or more weekend getaways?

Because it’s only when you get specific that you can really count the cost and work backwards to understand what your business needs to generate for YOU.

Otherwise, that extra sale…

That new retainer client…

That revenue bump…

It all gets swallowed up, and you never really feel the reward of your hard work.

And the whole point… is that you should.

We get it, looking for a new accountant can feel daunting.

It's a long term relationship you invest a lot into. (money, time, trust.)

So, finding the right fit is important.

Swipe through to see the questions we recommend asking when looking for a new accountant.

And always have a face to face call.

The communication vibe is so important.

If you don't feel comfortable asking them "silly" questions. Or you don't understand their answers, you'll end up missing out on so much value an advisory accountant can provide.

If you're considering working with us, we'd love to answer these questions for you.

Let's start with a chat.

This year we celebrated our 10-year wedding anniversary.

We’ve also been business partners for 3 years.

Turns out, running a business together is its own kind of marriage therapy.

We’ve learnt a lot about teamwork, patience...
& when to call it a night.

Some lessons were obvious.

Some took us a while to work out.

But the last 3 years have taught us more than we expected.

Here’s a few of the things that have stuck with us…

Sure, let ChatGPT do your accounts… what could possibly go wrong? 👀

Ai is great for brainstorming, or travel itineraries, but would you trust it with your business finances?

We've been talking about the Lloyds Bank Consumer Digital Index study today which found that "56% of adults – around 28.8 million people – say they’ve used AI in the past 12 months to help manage their money."

BUT what's wild is the majority of those people didn't trust the results. (Swipe through to see the data.)

We didn't start myQuarterly with the rise of AI in mind, but we are pretty confident we are ✨future proof.✨

Because we started myQuarterly to be a financial sounding board for founders.

Fire off your questions to us like you do to chat GPT, but get a human response.

Someone that knows YOUR business, YOUR goals, & how YOU like information explained.

*And someone that knows which HMRC rules are current and which came out at the same time as the S CLUB 7 CD. 😉
