We had a great day at the Xero Roadshow in Birmingham this week!

Thank you also to for inviting us to talk about some of the new innovations they have released, and how we’re implementing these into our work.

It was great to also reflect on how our year has been, and proudly talk about some of our success stories with clients. It was our first team outing with Gwern and Bethany, so it was fun to spend some time together!

If your costs are rising alongside your sales, you could be working harder, serving more customers and bringing in more revenue without actually making more money.

If hospitality disappeared tomorrow, what would we really lose?Not just places to eat and drink, but family celebrations, catch-ups over a pint, first dates and the beating heart of our communities.

Hospitality is under immense pressure with rising costs, staffing pressures, business rates, National Insurance, energy bills and VAT are putting independent businesses at risk.

We’re intrigued to see if any of this will be addressed during the Autumn Budget on the 28th October. Our fingers are crossed!

We had a great day at the Digital Accountancy Show in London this week!

It was a packed day of learning, networking and looking at what’s next for the industry. Highlights included how new technology & digital transformation will shape the future of accounting, and the potential benefits it can have to clients.

We also had a great meal at the Arcade food hall before heading home 🙌

Changes to tipping rules are still on the horizon.

The Government’s latest consultation on the rules surrounding the fair and transparent distribution of tips closed at the end of September, with the responses now forming part of the next stage in strengthening the legislation.

For independent hospitality businesses, it’s a timely reminder not to simply file tipping arrangements away as ‘job done’. With further changes expected, it’s worth understanding how your current system works and whether it remains the right approach for your business and your team.
