*Vulnerable Person Trusts vs Discretionary Trusts – they are not the same thing.*

This comes up all the time, and getting it wrong can be seriously expensive. In some cases, eye wateringly so.

If you’re planning for someone who is vulnerable or relies on means tested benefits, choosing the wrong type of trust can trigger unexpected tax bills or cause benefits to disappear. Good intentions won’t save you. The law is not sentimental.

Will AI really take our jobs?

Back in 2013, Oxford researchers Frey & Osborne predicted that nearly half of all jobs were at risk of automation. A decade on, new studies like the Generative AI Susceptibility Index (GAISI) reveal a more nuanced truth: AI is changing tasks, not wiping out entire professions.
So who’s really at risk, and who’s safe?
👉 Routine, repetitive roles like data entry and call centres are most exposed
👉 But jobs built on trust, empathy, and creativity, like estate planning, remain firmly human
