We were delighted to host our first RL Corporate Golf Day at The Heron Country Club on Thursday 14 May, welcoming nine teams for a great day of golf, networking and good spirits.

Despite a mix of sunshine, wind, rain and even hail, the atmosphere stayed positive throughout. Guests enjoyed bacon rolls on arrival, followed by 18 holes on the Heron-Hawk course and a classic golfer’s lunch to round off the day.

A big thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the day such a success.

We were delighted to attend the Essex Young Farmers Show at Boyton Hall last Sunday.

Our Agriculture Team was out in force, welcoming visitors to our marquee where we enjoyed catching up with clients, contacts, and fellow professionals over refreshments.

With a packed programme of entertainment, the event once again showcased the very best of the region’s farming community.

As long-standing supporters of the agricultural sector, we are proud to be part of such an important event in the farming calendar and to continue supporting the people at the heart of it.

Supporting great causes through football

It’s been a busy couple of weeks for Rickard Luckin, taking part in two fantastic charity football events at Southend United Football Club’s Roots Hall Stadium, all in aid of brilliant causes.

On Saturday 9 May, we entered a team into the World Cup-on-Sea 7-a-side tournament, joining 31 other local businesses to raise funds for the British Heart Foundation.

Our team delivered an excellent performance, winning all three group games, before progressing to the quarter-finals after a hard-fought 1–0 win in the round of 16. Despite a narrow 2–1 defeat at the quarter-final stage, it was a brilliant team effort and a great day all round.

Thanks to incredible support and fundraising efforts, we raised an impressive £1,204 for the British Heart Foundation.

We were also proud to once again sponsor Play on the Pitch on Thursday 14 May, where Ali Hussain and Reece Dabbs represented Rickard Luckin as part of a Southend business professionals team taking on Barclays UK, raising funds for Havens Hospices.

In a high-energy match packed with goals, Barclays edged a 5–3 win, but the real success was the fantastic atmosphere and the coming together of the local business community for such an important cause. The event is expected to raise close to £50,000.

A huge well done to everyone involved in both events, from players and organisers to supporters and donors. We’re proud to be part of such a generous and community-driven network.

Today’s the day! We’re delighted to once again sponsor this year’s Play on the Pitch charity event!

Come along for the annual football match between Barclays UK and Southend Business Professionals at Roots Hall Stadium, home of Southend United Football Club.

Join us today, Thursday 14 May 2026 from 5:30pm, to cheer on the teams. After the match, stay for the charity auction and raffle, all in support of Havens Hospices, who provide exceptional care for people in our community with life-limiting conditions.

We’re proud to share the impact of an Easter initiative led by Lucy Courtenay, who turned her volunteering experience into meaningful support for the Southend Storehouse at Southend Vineyard.

After seeing just how much food the Storehouse needs to provide two hot meals a day to those who depend on the service, Lucy helped kick-start a baked bean collection at Rickard Luckin. Thanks to the generosity of our team, 217 tins were donated, and we were delighted to match and increase the donation, taking the total contribution to £250.

Lucy’s efforts didn’t stop there. She has also helped set up a permanent donation point at her son’s school, supporting ongoing collections for the Southend Storehouse throughout the year.

This is a fantastic example of how care, initiative and collective effort can make a real difference.

Well done Lucy, and thank you to all the RL team members who got involved.

We’re thrilled to be entering a team in the upcoming World Cup-on-Sea charity football tournament, hosted by AJ Chambers, on Saturday 9 May 2026. Now in its sixth year, the event promises to be the biggest and best yet.

Rickard Luckin is once again proud to support this fantastic community initiative, competing against 31 other local businesses in a 7‑a‑side tournament at Southend United Football Club, all in aid of British Heart Foundation.

Since 2019, World Cup‑on‑Sea has raised more than £170,000 for charity, with hopes that this year’s event will push the total beyond the £200,000 mark.
