If we weren’t accountants and we were choosing one for our own business, here’s what we’d look for… 👀
We wouldn’t just want someone who files our accounts and tells us how much tax we owe.
We’d want an accountant who takes the time to understand our business, our challenges and where we want to go next.
We’d want proactive tax planning before opportunities have passed, our numbers explained in plain English, and someone keeping us ahead of changes that could affect our business.
And when it comes to the big decisions, growing the business, taking on staff, investing, buying equipment or taking money out of the company, we’d want an accountant we could call before making the decision, not afterwards.
Because a good accountant shouldn’t simply tell you what happened last year.
They should help you make better decisions about what happens next.
So, as a business owner, ask yourself:
Is that the relationship you have with your accountant?
If not, maybe it’s time for a conversation.
