Keri is hugely passionate about Financial Planning and joined BFP in 2001. She qualified as a Certified Financial Planner™ in 2007 and went on to be announced as the inaugural winner of the CFP™ Professional of the Year award. In 2013, she became Managing Director of BFP eventually buying the firm.
She has been actively involved in promoting the profession through her work as a Board Director of the Institute of Financial Planning (IFP), Deputy Chairman of the Financial Planning Forum Committee at the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI) and as a mentor for Coventry University’s Wealth Management Initiative. More recently, Keri has enjoyed delivering Personal Finance sessions to students at Chipping Campden School encouraging young people to take an active interest in money matters.

Keri is married to Neil and has a daughter, Connie. As well as juggling the challenges of motherhood and running a business, she enjoys travelling particularly to see family in the Emerald Isle.

We asked Keri some questions to find out a little more about her….

• What are your Top 3 highlights in/of? life so far

Ooh that’s such a difficult one to answer! One would definitely be running the London Marathon many years ago. It was an amazing experience and, whilst it seemed to take forever, I was very pleased to finish it!

The second would have to be becoming a parent. Whilst it’s challenging in so many ways, it’s also hugely rewarding and it’s lovely to reflect on how our family unit grows as we get older.

The third would be celebrating reaching the milestone age of 50. I spent it at a fantastic house in Wales with close friends and family and had the most amazing time - great music, food and fireworks!

• Is there an ability you wish you had?

I would love to travel in space. I’m pretty obsessed with looking at the moon on a clear night and would love the opportunity to see it up close…maybe one day?

• What song is guaranteed to get you on the dance floor?

Don’t stop me now by Queen. I love 70s music and this song makes me very happy. It will definitely be my swansong at my funeral.

• What’s top of your bucket list?

To own a miniature donkey! I spent many happy years as a child looking after a friend’s donkey and have always hoped to get one of my own. Sadly I don’t think it’ll fit in the garden just yet.

• Do you have a talent that would surprise people?

I can play the piano…fairly proficiently. I was recently given a baby grand piano and so hope to spend more time playing once it’s in place at the new home.

• What does your working day look like?

Well I normally like to catch up on emails first thing before getting up. I find it sets me up for the day and I can then plan what’s needed before arriving at the office. We then have a team catch up at 9.30 to go through any brainstorming/client work and then get straight into client meetings, checking reports and discussing client cases. I also spend a reasonable amount of time investigating advice strategies, reading technical articles and dealing with running the business too.

• What do you most like about working at BFP?

That’s an easy one to answer – everything! I have always said I have been blessed with this career and am privileged to help people make positive changes to their lives. As well as being based in the most beautiful setting on the Farncombe Estate, I work with lovely people both clients and colleagues…what’s not to like?

• What are your plans for 2024/25?

Having spent the last two years creating a lovely home in Chipping Campden, I’m now looking forward to enjoying it…and not moving again in a hurry!

Rebecca graduated in 2015 with an Honours Bachelor of Commerce Degree and moved from Cork in Ireland to join the team in May 2018. Now level 6 qualified, Rebecca works closely with Keri and Hetty in supporting them with providing advice to clients. She enjoys the Paraplanning role as she considers it to be ‘the best of both worlds’ with equal parts client contact and ‘behind the scenes’ technical work. We recently grilled Rebecca with some probing questions to find out a little more about her...

🔸 What are your Top 3 highlights in/of? life so far

A difficult question but if I had to pick three, I would say my wedding in 2022, snorkelling in the Maldives and taking a helicopter ride with my grandmother to an Alaskan glacier and drinking the water directly from it! Lately though I’m finding the importance of finding joy more often in the smaller moments like having a coffee in the sunshine in my garden with my dog.

🔸 Is there an ability you wish you had?

If we are talking about a supernatural ability, then I would love to be able to travel back in time! Otherwise I would settle for being able to cook…

🔸 What’s top of your bucket list?

To see more of the world and get some larger trips in my diary. I’m hoping to explore some of Asia for the first time in the not too distant future

🔸 Do you have a talent that would surprise people?

Nothing too interesting I’m afraid, though I am a keen skier and for someone who is very un-athletic, this has surprised some people!

🔸 What does your working day look like?

Busy! We start the day with a team catchup, then I’ll usually be writing client reports and recommendations, working on Financial Plans, preparing for client meetings and following up with clients on various actions agreed from their meeting. My days involve working closely with providers and other industry professionals like solicitors and accountants in order to help support BFP’s Financial Planners, Keri and Hetty, in delivering the best service possible. Every month I also write articles for local publications on various Financial Planning related topics.

🔸 What do you most like about working at BFP?

As a country bumkin at heart, I consider myself very fortunate to be able to work in the finance industry but in an office on a beautiful country estate. I also love working for a smaller company and being a part of a close-knit team which I feel helps us deliver a bespoke and personal relationship with our clients.

🔸 What are your plans for 2024?

Its hard to believe we are already halfway through, but professionally I am working towards obtaining Certified Financial Planner™ status and in my personal life I am looking forward to spending time with my family Ireland, a trip to Mallorca and also Corfu.

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated Financial Planning Assistant to join our team on the Farncombe Estate, Broadway. The ideal candidate will assist in delivering an exceptional service to our clients by providing administrative support, preparing financial documents/forms and liaising with clients and providers.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Assist Financial Planners/Paraplanner in preparing client financial plans, investment proposals and presentations.
• Support the Financial Planners/Paraplanner with day-to-day administrative tasks
• Prepare and process client account paperwork, including account opening, product transfers and maintenance.
• Assist the Financial Planners/Paraplanner to prepare for client meetings and provide follow-up communications, ensuring excellent client service.
• Maintain accurate client records and documentation in compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with other team members to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
• Stay up to date with industry trends, best practices and regulatory changes.
• A strong work ethic and desire to help others is essential.
• A minimum of 2 years’ administrative experience required.
• Previous experience in financial services preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
