Meet our newest team member!
If you’ve been to the office in the last year you may have already met him but we thought we’d introduce him properly.
This is Mawgan, who will happily greet you on reception when you call in (sometimes loudly but we can assure you he is super friendly!).
He loves treats and playing ball in the park 🐶🎾

The office is open:
Tuesdays to Thursdays 9am to 5pm
Fridays 8am to 3pm
(Mondays closed but phones are on)

Mawgan is looking forward to meeting you all when you drop in your records. He asked us to add that dog treats are hugely appreciated too!

Today our new phone system was finally installed!!
From tomorrow you will be able to get us on the phone during the following times:

Monday to Thursday
9am to 12.30pm
1.30pm to 5pm

Fridays
9am to 3pm

05/01/2021

Due to the government’s announcement last night of the national lockdown we have decided that our office will be closed until further notice.

Our phone lines will remain open on Tuesdays and Fridays and outside of those times the answerphone is being closely monitored so please leave a message for a call back.

As the tax return deadline is fast approaching we are aware that some of you will need to call at the office. This is fine and we are able to accommodate this at fairly short notice, however, we do ask that you contact us first so that we can allocate you a time slot.

All staff are still working, mainly from home and are available by email as usual.

If you have any queries or concerns please contact us.

** Update **

We hope you have all had a good Christmas and New Year!

Unfortunately there has been a delay with the installation of our new phone system, we will let you know as soon as we have more information, but for now please continue to leave messages and we will call you back as quickly as possible.

The office and our phone lines will be open Tuesdays 9am to 5pm and Fridays 9am to 3pm. If you need to call in to the office outside of these times please contact us first to arrange.

Although we are keeping the office open two days a week to make it as easy as possible for you to contact us and drop in records, we would ask you to ensure that all journeys made are essential and also to remember to follow the Covid guidelines when visiting the office:

* Masks must be worn on entering the premises
* Use hand sanitiser provided when you arrive and when you leave
* Wait outside if someone else is already in reception when you arrive

Thank you for helping us to keep our staff and clients as safe as possible.

We wanted to say a big THANK YOU to everyone for adapting to our system in the past months of leaving answerphone messages and waiting for a call back. We have good news! We are currently in the process of setting up a new phone system so we will be able to answer your calls during office hours whether we are working in the office or from home. The expected go live date is the first week in January!

OPENING HOURS UPDATE
Although we are in a Tier 3 area, and we want to continue to do our part by working from home as much as possible, we have given it careful consideration and due the time of year (tax return deadline looming!), we have decided that from 4th December to 18th December we will be open Tuesdays 9am to 5pm and Fridays 9am to 3pm.
If you need to drop anything off outside of these times which cannot be posted through the letterbox, please contact us first.

Christmas Parties!!

So although Christmas parties this year will not look the same as in a ‘normal’ year, there is some good news!

HMRC have confirmed that, where all normal conditions are met, virtual events can be included in the usual £150 per head per year exemption for events available to all employees.

A simple example that has been added to the guidance is:

A company holds one annual function in a tax year and does so virtually using IT. All employees are invited and each is provided with a hamper consisting of some food and drink to be enjoyed by the attendees during the party. The total cost per head is £100 which is within the £150 exemption and so the exemption applies.

Remember, that as usual the following applies:
• All cost of providing an event must be counted when calculating the ‘per head’ cost. This could include:
• Entertainment
• Food and drink
• Transport and accommodation that enables an employee to attend
• VAT
This list isn’t exclusive, and in arriving at the ‘cost per head’ the total expenses should be divided by the number attending, which may also include non-employees.

• The £150 is not an annual allowance, if the cost is exceeded then the whole amount will become taxable.

So, get organising those Zoom parties and lets all enjoy a safe (and tax deductible) Christmas party!
