New legislation alert for employers!

From 6th April, businesses will be required to keep detailed records of annual leave and holiday pay for six years.

This includes:
✔️ Annual leave taken and carried forward
✔️ How holiday pay has been calculated
✔️ Payments in lieu of leave (including carried-over time)

These rules apply to all workers — full-time, part-time, contract, agency, and irregular hours.

There’s also a new Fair Work Agency with the power to issue fines of up to £20,000 per employee and take cases to tribunal.

If your record-keeping systems aren’t up to scratch, now is the time to act.

📢 Making Tax Digital is coming for Income Tax Self Assessment (MTD ITSA)

From April 2026, MTD ITSA will be mandatory for self-employed individuals and landlords with an annual business/property income over £50,000.

From April 2027, the threshold drops to £30,000.

You’ll need to keep digital records and send quarterly updates to HMRC using compatible software.
