I set this up for myself this week and it literally took just a few minutes!

You need some personal information such as your Unique Tax Reference and national insurance number so have those to hand when you download the app.

Once in you can see all your tax information including benefits, tax codes, PAYE information and self assessment returns.

You can check your pension status too so if checking that your national insurance contributions are up to date is on your to do list before the cut off in April then this is a quick and easy way to do that.

The HMRC app is free and can help you manage your tax affairs quickly and easily. 📱

With just a few days left to submit your 2023/24 SA100 self assessment return make sure you let HMRC know if you no longer need to submit a return to avoid penalties.

Reality: It is important that you tell us if you no longer need to fill in a tax return, to avoid any penalties.

You might no longer need to send a return because, for example:

⏹️ You are no longer self-employed
🔑 You no longer rent out property
👪 You no longer pay the High Income Child Benefit Charge.

If you claimed before May 2000, you could be missing Home Responsibility Protection (HRP) from your National Insurance record.

Hello to all my followers.

Firstly, I apologise for the lack of posts this year. Our family has been dealing with personal issues which have meant my business took a back seat.

Huge thank you to my existing clients who have been amazingly understanding.

Normal service has now been resumed!

As usual, instead of sending Christmas cards to my clients I am donating to the Crisis for Christmas appeal. A donation of £100 has been made today which will pay for 3 people living on the streets to enjoy a few home comforts and some assistance over the Christmas period.

Thank you all again, and don’t forget that your self assessment tax returns for the year ending 5th April 2024 have to be submitted by 31st January 2025.

My books are filling up for SA100s for this year but I can take on a couple more clients who can get their tax information to me by Christmas.
