Tonight I had an immense pleasure of attending One Voice Blackburn Awards Dinner at historic Exchange Blackburn where I have presented 1V Woman of the Year Award to Shigufta Khan.

It was a truly remarkable evening where a recognition was given to amazing men and women of Blackburn with Darwen who give their all to the community. Heartfelt well done.

Thank you to my husband and my amazing friends for sharing this evening with me.

👏 Meet the finalists:

⭐ Shahiesta Iqbal - An Education Development Officer at Community Rail Lancashire who is connecting communities through rail, wellbeing, and inclusion. As the first South Asian Muslim woman in the UK to undertake this role, Shahiesta has inspired countless people to travel confidently, build independence, and access new opportunities. Her pioneering “Stations of Welcome” project in Accrington received the BBC Make a Difference Award in 2025.

⭐ Shigufta Khan - Chief Executive Officer of The Wish Centre, Shigufta has dedicated her career to supporting victims of domestic abuse and championing prevention, safety, and empowerment. Under her leadership, the charity has supported thousands of individuals and families across Lancashire while helping to influence policy and safeguarding practices locally and nationally.

⭐ Mary Painter - A passionate Community History Librarian committed to preserving and celebrating local heritage. Through exhibitions, community projects, archives, and educational resources, Mary has connected people of all ages with the rich history of the area while creating welcoming opportunities for learning, creativity, and community engagement.

⭐ Farzana 'Faz' Sidat - Former Head of Youth at IMO and a dedicated advocate for young people and community development. Through mentoring, coaching, education, and youth programmes, Faz empowers young people to build confidence, develop skills, and achieve their full potential while promoting inclusion and stronger community connections.

💙 Each of these finalists represents inspiration, leadership, and an unwavering commitment to creating positive change in our communities. Their contributions continue to make Blackburn with Darwen a stronger, more connected, and more inclusive place for all.

Ostatnie kilka dni spędziłam w Londynie na jednym z największych wydarzeń w branży finansowej - Accountex 2026.

Dlaczego? Jak już zapewne dobrze wiecie w McMaccounting zawsze trzymamy rękę na pulsie aby znaleźć najlepsze udogodnienia dla naszych klientów jak również pozostać na jak najwyższym poziomie w sferze zmieniających się przepisów podatkowym, których jest mnóstwo.

Wracamy do Was z głową pełna pomysłów, inspiracji oraz wiedzy.
Dziękuje Kasia Kielmel za towarzystwo i wspólne odkrywanie przyszłości zarówno w księgowości jak i finansach i planowania dalszej wspólnej współpracy.
