Did you know you can transfer between a Cash ISA and a Stocks & Shares ISA?

Many people open an ISA and then leave their money in the same place for years. But as your circumstances and financial goals change, it can be worth reviewing whether the type of ISA you hold is still right for you.

A Cash ISA can be transferred into a Stocks & Shares ISA, and a Stocks & Shares ISA can be transferred back into a Cash ISA.

Using the official ISA transfer process means money you've built up in ISAs from previous tax years can retain its ISA status, without the transfer itself using up your current year's ISA allowance.

You might consider a transfer because:
• You're investing for the longer term and want to explore the potential for investment growth
• Your circumstances have changed, and you'd prefer to hold more in cash
• You want to move to another provider
• Your existing ISA no longer fits your financial goals

It's important to use the correct ISA transfer process rather than withdrawing the money yourself and then attempting to reinvest it.

Your financial plan should change as your life does.

If you have ISAs you've held for several years and aren't sure whether they're still the right option for you, speak to the team at Consequential Planning about reviewing your arrangements.

Junior ISAs: Giving Children a Head Start........

What if you could start building a financial foundation for your child from an early age?

A Junior ISA can be a simple way to put money aside for a child’s future, allowing savings or investments to build over time.

There are two main types:

Cash Junior ISA – where money is saved in cash and earns interest.
Stocks & Shares Junior ISA – where contributions are invested, giving the potential for greater growth over the longer term, although the value can go down as well as up.

The key benefit of starting early is time.

Regular contributions, combined with long-term investment growth, can potentially create a meaningful financial pot by the time your child reaches adulthood.

That money could eventually help towards:
- University or further education
- A first home
- A car
- Starting a business
- Or simply providing a financial head start in adult life

Of course, investing for children is a long-term decision and the right option will depend on your circumstances, objectives and attitude to risk.

At Consequential Planning, we can help you understand the options and consider how saving or investing for the next generation could fit into your wider financial plan.

Sometimes, the best gift you can give your children isn't something they can unwrap today — it's giving their future a head start.

☀️ Have You Given Your Finances a Summer Health Check?

Summer is often a time to slow down, take stock and get organised.
We service our cars, tidy the garden, book holidays and prepare for the months ahead… but when was the last time you reviewed your financial plan?

A simple financial review can help you answer some important questions:
✔️ Am I still on track to achieve my long-term goals?
✔️ Has anything changed in my personal or financial circumstances?
✔️ Am I making the most of my tax allowances?
✔️ Is my pension on track for the retirement I want?
✔️ Do my investments still reflect my goals and attitude to risk?
✔️ Is my family financially protected if the unexpected happens?
Financial planning isn't just something you do once.

Life changes, markets change, and your priorities can change, too. That's why regular reviews are an essential part of keeping your financial plan working for you.

Whether you're building wealth, planning for retirement, or simply looking for peace of mind, taking the time to review your finances today could make a real difference to your future.

🌿 This summer, invest a little time in the one plan that matters most—your financial plan.

August has been a reminder that life is beautiful and hard at the same time.

Two very close friends welcomed their babies — their second and third, completing their families. ❤️
A client's wife was diagnosed with severe cancer, changing everything for their family.
One client finally reached the end of a long divorce and is now getting everything settled and moving forward.
And today, I'm getting ready to celebrate the wedding of two very close friends here in Worcester. 🥂

So many different emotions, all in the same month.
I spend a lot of my time talking about the future — planning, investing and protecting.

And I absolutely love that.
But life isn't just about planning for what's ahead.

It's also about living now.

Take the trip.
Celebrate.
Love fiercely.
Go for it.

Plan for the future, but don't forget to live the present. ❤️

When my grandad passed away 6 years ago, he had one of those - it made a huge difference for our family to sort things and help my grandmother.

It's never easy to gather everything in one place but at least a big part would make a difference.

At Consequential Planning Limited, we will be providing this Life book to our clients.

Get in touch if you have any questions.

Age UK's LifeBook is a free booklet where you can write important information about your life, from who insures your car to where you put the TV licence.

Back to reality ☀️➡️💻

Two weeks away, a bit of sunshine, lots of family and friends time… and now it’s time to get back into the swing of things!

I did sneak in a little bit of work while I was away (because apparently switching off completely is a skill I’m still working on 😂 but it's also not worth all the pending emails), but it was nice to properly slow down and come back with a fresh head or just work from somewhere else.

There’s something quite nice about returning to your normal routine after a break — and appreciating my own bed!

Feeling refreshed and ready for the rest of the year.

Hope everyone else has had a lovely summer so far. 🌿

What does the current economic picture mean for everyday financial planning?

The UK economy continues to face a mixture of opportunities and challenges. While some sectors are showing signs of improvement, households and businesses are still dealing with higher costs and ongoing uncertainty.

One area worth watching is the housing market. House prices have remained relatively stable, but affordability remains a key consideration for anyone looking to move or buy their first home. With mortgage costs still an important factor, careful planning can make a significant difference.

For businesses, there are also opportunities emerging through changes to government procurement. New requirements are intended to encourage public spending to support British jobs, skills and local communities, while making it easier for smaller businesses to compete for contracts.

Meanwhile, rising food, fuel and energy costs continue to put pressure on household budgets.

These wider economic changes are a useful reminder that financial planning isn't about trying to predict exactly what will happen next. It's about making sure your financial plans are robust enough to cope with changing circumstances.

At Consequential Planning, we help clients look at the bigger picture, understand their options and make informed decisions about their financial future.

Trust is getting passed through generations - that makes me feel very lucky to do what I do. ❤️

A couple became clients earlier this year, after we first met mid-last year.
Since then, they've introduced me to one of their sons, who I’ve been able to help with some of his investments.
And now, I am helping them set up Junior Stocks & Shares ISAs for their two grandchildren of their other son.

Three generations of the same family.

In financial planning, we talk a lot about intergenerational wealth — passing wealth down, helping the next generation, and making sure money is structured in a way that supports the family’s long-term goals.

But when you actually see it happening with a family you work with, it feels very different.

It’s not just about investments or pensions.
It’s about trust.
They trusted me with their own financial planning.
Then trusted me enough to introduce me to their son.
And now I’m involved in helping their grandchildren start their financial journey too.

I feel very privileged to be involved in a whole family’s financial planning, across generations.

And perhaps that’s one of the most rewarding parts of being a financial adviser: being trusted to help people make decisions that can benefit their family for years to come. ❤️

Today is National Financial Awareness Day 💷

And it's a good reminder that being financially aware isn't about being an expert in finance.
It's about understanding what you're doing with your money — and why.

Do you know:
💰 How much you really need to live each month?
📈 The difference between saving and investing?
🏦 What your pension is invested in?
💷 How much you're paying in investment fees?
🧾 Which tax allowances you're entitled to?
🛡️ What would happen financially if you couldn't work?
🎯 What you're actually working towards financially?

You don't need to know everything.
But understanding the basics can make a huge difference to the decisions you make today and the financial security you build for the future.
Financial planning isn't about having all the answers.
Sometimes, it's simply about knowing what questions to ask.

So, today, why not take 10 minutes to look at one area of your finances that you've been putting off?

A little more financial awareness today could lead to much better financial decisions tomorrow.
