The East Riding of Yorkshire Council dog warden team have launched a new page on Facebook, to more easily enable lost dogs to be reunited with their owners

Under the Section 149 of the Environment Protection Act 1990, the council has a responsibility over stray and unattended dogs in the East Riding.

The page will have posts that contain photographs of the dog as well any relevant details. Not all dogs will be posted, so residents are encouraged to get in touch if they have lost a dog.

Councillor Lyn Healing, East Riding of Yorkshire Council Cabinet Member for Communities and Public Protection said,; β€œThis is a great new resource, and we hope it will help to more easily reunite dogs with their owners. We encourage interested residents to follow the page on Facebook for updates.”

Proof of ownership is required in order to retrieve any dogs in the council’s possession.

The page can be found at https://www.facebook.com/EastRidingDogWardenService , and further information about the dog warden team can be found at https://www.eastriding.gov.uk/environment/pests-dogs-and-animals/dog-control-and-ownership/
