I work with owner-managed businesses, so I see what the margins really look like.

Right now a petition is calling for VAT on hospitality to be cut from 20% to 10%.

Led by the hospitality sector, championed by , and , is a national campaign asking the government to act.

For a pub, a café, or a small restaurant running close to the line, that gap is the difference between a viable year and a closing-down sign.

These are not faceless companies, they are business owners. The same as the ones I sit with every week.

is one of my favourites, and thankfully it is not going anywhere, but it's the exact type of place worth fighting for!
