🎅🏻 Only 13 more sleeps until the big guy arrives and we’re all hard at work getting ready for the Christmas break. At gbac, we’ve already had a visit from Santas chief accountant / mischievous elf… Ledger Claus (yes that’s the best we could come up with 😆)

Ledger Claus has been up to all sorts of mischief since he arrived on the 1st December and apparently, we have a few team members on the naughty list?! Let’s see if he can spread some Christmas cheer and put them back on the nice list. 😅🎄

🎄 We’re proud to be supporting The Barnsley College Food Parcel Project, helping to create food parcels for over 400 students who need a little extra support over the Christmas break. 🎄

Alongside making our own donation, gbac will be acting as a drop-off point for anyone local who’d like to get involved and give something back. Every contribution, big or small, really will make a difference — and both we and the College would be incredibly grateful for your support.

If any of our clients local to gbac would like to donate, we’re collecting non-perishable items such as rice, tinned soup, pasta, noodles, cereal, cereal bars, tea, coffee, long-life milk, sweets, biscuits, and selection boxes. 🍪☕🎁

Please drop your donations off with us by Thursday 4th December so they can reach students in time for Christmas.

👻 Spooky season is officially here! 👻

Today marks the end of Mental Health Awareness week. 💛

At gbac, mental health is something that we are passionate about and is heavily embedded into our team culture. We have dedicated and trained Mental Health First Aiders who offer regular wellbeing chats, monthly wellbeing events and a wellbeing room, amongst other wellbeing initiatives.

On Wednesday, some of our team took a wellbeing walk around our local park and although this may seem small, it's important for our team to spend that time together, in the fresh air and away from their desk. You'd be surprised what small steps can have a positive effect on your mental health.

This week has been an important week, for businesses especially, to consider the steps they are taking to protect and support their teams mental health. We owe it to our employees to be progressive in our actions towards supporting mental health and although we offer a lot at gbac, we are always on a journey of continuous improvement. 💛

We’ve had an early visit from the Easter Bunny at gbac! What a lovely surprise to walk in to on our desks this morning. Although, I’m not sure how all of that chocolate has made it to 4pm without being opened! 🍫🐰

#3 days to go

Bridge Bungee Jump in aid of BIADS "Barnsley Independent Alzheimer's and Dementia Support".

Baillie is our final participant who's decided to take the plunge, joining last minute.

He is 24 years old and works in our Accounts and Audit department here at GBAC, along with some of our other brave participants.

We asked him the same questions as the others and below are his answers:

Why have you decided to jump/take part: "I wasn’t originally signed up, but when a space opened up, I thought—why not? (Even though I’m not a fan of heights!)" also "BIADS is an amazing charity supporting people affected by dementia, and I’m proud to be taking part to help raise awareness and funds."

What gives you adrenaline/enjoyment: "Outside of work, I spend way too much time (and money) going to gigs and festivals—definitely my favourite way to spend a weekend! 🎸🖤"

What scares you the most/fears: "Anything with more than 4 legs, insects, spiders"

Baillie said his fear factor for the Jump is 7/10, stating "Wish me luck—I’ll definitely need it! 😅" We're sure he will do amazing.
