South Yorkshire Pensions Authority We are responsible for administering the Local Government Pension Scheme in South Yorkshire.

The Authority formally consists of 12 Elected Members nominated by the four South Yorkshire district councils. They act as quasi-trustees and have ultimate legal responsibility for the Fund and the services that we provide. Their priorities are to maximise pension fund investments, focus on the service we provide to fund members and to have a close relationship with the fund employers.

🚴 Challenge complete! 🎉

Earlier this month, as part of the Tour De Partnership challenge, Border to Coast Chief Stakeholder Officer Ewan McCulloch cycled almost 1,300km in just 11 days, visiting every Partner Fund along the way. Inspired by Ewan's incredible achievement, SYPA colleagues set out to collectively match his target through our office pedal challenge and later put their Border to Coast location-themed knowledge to the test in a virtual quiz.

We're delighted to share that together we:

🚴 Pedalled 1,670km
💷 Raised £402 (and counting)
❤️ Supported Sheffield Children's Hospital Charity

A huge thank you to everyone who took part, donated and cheered us on throughout the challenge. From using our office pedal bikes to joining the quiz, every contribution helped make a difference.

Did you know this definition? 👀

Normal Pension Age is the age you can take your pension without any early retirement reductions.

From April 2014, Normal Pension Age is linked to State Pension Age with a minimum age of 65.

📅 If you choose to take your pension before your Normal Pension Age, it will normally be reduced because it is being paid early.

If you take it after your Normal Pension Age, your pension will be increased because it’s being paid late. 📈
