The Farming for the Generations team was kindly invited to attend a recent gathering of the Northern Ireland branch of the Agricultural Law Association, held at the Glenavon Hotel, Cookstown.

At the event, the team had the opportunity to highlight the work of Rural Support, showcasing key services such as the Supportline, Business Mentoring, Counselling, and Social Farming.

They also presented the Farming for the Generations programme - a pilot initiative launched by Rural Support and funded by DAERA as part of the Sustainable Agriculture Programme. This initiative helps farm families with succession planning to secure the future of their businesses.

The programme follows a three-phase approach:
1️⃣ Planning for Succession
2️⃣ Developing the Successor(s)
3️⃣ Ongoing Support

It also provides options for farmers without a family successor, helping them explore partnerships with new entrants or other farming businesses.
