FLC Projects –
As part of our series highlighting what we’re up to at The Farming Life Centre, today we’re introducing our new Peak District Men in Farming group.

Launching in May 2026, this group is for men actively involved in agriculture, offering a chance to step off the farm and connect with others in a relaxed and supportive setting.

From farm walks and interesting talks to social evenings and the occasional pub night, the group will offer a mix of practical, social, and informal get-togethers — all organised by The Farming Life Centre.

📅 First meeting: 20th May 2026
📍 Aston Hall Farm, Aston, S33 6RA (by kind permission of the Dalton family)

Join us for a farm walk followed by hot food kindly provided by Liz Kemp.
🕡 Arrive from 6:45pm for a 7:00pm start.

At the Farming Life Centre we are providing the Farm Resilience Programme, for the Royal Countryside Fund, and we’d love to welcome more local farm businesses to take part. The programme is completely free and designed to offer practical, grounded support at a time when the industry is facing more uncertainty than ever.

A key part of the programme is the Farm Business Toolkit. It’s a really helpful way to take stock of your business as it stands now, what’s working well, where the pressure points are, and where there may be opportunities to strengthen things for the future. Many farmers who’ve used it previously have said it helped them see their business in a new light.

Our first workshop on Wednesday 6th May at 7pm, at the Cowshed Café, Millers Dale, will focus on the big challenges facing farm businesses right now, from market volatility to shifting policies and the wider uncertainty affecting the sector. It’s a great chance to step back, get some clarity, and explore practical ways to build resilience.

We’d be delighted to have you involved.
