Procurement Engineer – Civil & Architectural
- Job Purpose :-
The Procurement Engineer – Civil & Architectural will be responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and procuring civil and architectural materials, resources, and services required for construction projects. The role focuses on obtaining competitive prices, developing reliable suppliers, and ensuring timely delivery of materials to support uninterrupted site operations.
- Key Responsibilities
• Source and identify qualified suppliers and subcontractors for civil and architectural materials and services.
• Develop and maintain an updated database of reliable and competitive suppliers.
• Obtain quotations from different suppliers and prepare detailed technical and commercial comparison sheets.
• Review quotations and ensure compliance with project specifications, required quantities, quality standards, and delivery requirements.
• Negotiate competitive prices and commercial terms in coordination with the Procurement Manager.
• Ensure the timely availability and delivery of materials according to site requirements and project schedules.
• Coordinate with Site, Technical, Commercial, Planning, and Finance teams regarding procurement requirements.
• Follow up on purchase orders, material deliveries, pending requests, and supplier commitments.
• Continuously identify alternative suppliers and new sources to improve cost and availability.
• Verify supplier accounts and reconcile supplied quantities against actual deliveries received at site.
• Follow up on suppliers' invoices and subcontractors' payment applications in coordination with the relevant departments.
• Coordinate with the Finance Department to ensure proper settlement of procurement-related advances and financial accounts.
• Prepare and maintain procurement records, quotations, comparison sheets, purchase orders, and supplier information.
• Monitor procurement progress and take necessary actions to prevent material shortages or delays affecting site activities.
• Use and manage procurement activities through the company's ERP system, including purchase requests, purchase orders, supplier records, and related procurement transactions.
- Qualifications & Requirements :
• Bachelor's Degree in Civil / architectural Engineering.
• Minimum 7 - 10 years of relevant procurement experience in Saudi Arabia.
• Previous experience with construction/contracting companies is required.
• Experience in hospital, healthcare, commercial, or large-scale building projects is highly preferred.
• Good knowledge of civil and architectural construction materials, suppliers, and local market practices.
• Strong skills in supplier sourcing, quotation analysis, negotiation, and cost control.
• Good communication, coordination, follow-up, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple procurement requirements simultaneously.
• Practical experience in using ERP systems for procurement and purchasing activities is required.
• Good command of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Good command of English language, written and spoken.
