Happy Thanksgiving!🦃🍁

For most of my adult life I’ve celebrated Thanksgiving on a Saturday -so much so that I kind of forget it’s actually on Thursday. ☺️ Thursday is of course a normal work day in Germany and every other place I’ve lived since.

is about appreciation for the things we have, for the family and friendships we cherish.

Every year we welcome new and old friends to share in this tradition with us. Thank you for coming! It was lovely to see you all. And especially .bastian for being as enthusiastic about it as I am! 😍

In 1913 the modern woman knows she needs insurance- and now? I wonder if the woman of 1913 would recognize the same stressors as the women of today?

Schwerin, home sweet home!

My favorite time of year. I’ve lived in many countries and each was special with its own seasons. My favorite is fall - the colors, the smell of leaves, and it also means Thanksgiving is coming soon!

Great workshop on Saturday. All about investing in your child’s future. How to keep your kid’s future secure, planning for the best and maybe the worst-case scenarios.Good questions and great engagement! Tnx to all who joined us!

That’s what I love the most about my job. Bringing people together to find common ground as people (parents) in a country not their own, but one they call home.

If you missed it we’ll be doing it again next year. Coming up in November is our tax prep. Stay tuned for more!

Are you a parent? Living in Germany?

Sometimes as an expat we feel foolish - that we didn’t know something that it seems everyone else knows.

Don’t beat yourself up - you can’t know what you don’t know! And if it’s not you’re not a subject matter expert - how could you know?

That’s exactly why we offer once a month educational workshops - online, free and open to the public.

In our experience, over the last 8 years, we’ve seen common questions and issues faced by expats which are often very different to our those faced by Germans. That’s our speciality. Come along and learn with us!

Sunday is nature walk day. There are so many unique places to discover! At the weekend we were invited by a client down to Marburg and we took the opportunity to explore this beautiful location. Love it! 🥰

Today we had breakfast with the Mayor of Schwerin. As part of welcoming new people to the city, the mayor’s office organizes breakfast and in a friendly round invites newcomers to tell about themselves, why they came here, what they like and points for improvement. Genius idea, lovely event. Thank you Mr. Badenschier for sharing the time and the beautiful view!

And later in the day - beach party in Schwerin. Home sweet home!

Happy 4th of July! I nearly forgot about it this year! My friends in Mexico reminded me ☺️. Time to plan a last minute celebration 🎉 .

It’s a bit funny when you start to forget your own cultural holidays. ( I never forget Thanksgiving 🦃)
I guess that’s a function of living outside your own culture for so long - anyone else experience this?
