Entering a new market is never just about opening a company.

Whether a business comes from the U.S., Japan, China or another country — the structure that worked before does not automatically work in Germany.

At first glance, everything may look familiar:
a company,
clients,
employees,
contracts,
operations.

But every market has its own logic.
Its own legal framework.
Its own tax architecture.
Its own expectations from authorities, banks and business partners.

In my experience, the most important decisions are made before the company is established.

Questions that should be strategically analyzed from the beginning:

— tax structure and international taxation
— transfer pricing
— legal and operational setup
— shareholder structure
— management and responsibilities
— contracts and documentation
— office and registered address
— employment structure and payroll
— compliance and reporting obligations

Many entrepreneurs expect one conversation to provide all answers.

But in reality, entering a new market often requires several strategic discussions:
to understand the possibilities,
compare structures,
analyze risks,
and build a model that can actually function long-term.

A company should not only be founded correctly.

It should be designed correctly.

The world is changing. And so are the people in it.

Technical knowledge — tax law, corporate law (Gesellschaftsrecht), audit experience, HR management — remains the foundation of solid advisory work. No question about it.

But foundations alone don’t build the future.

In my experience, the most complex business challenges are rarely purely technical. They sit at the intersection of law, strategy, culture — and deeply human decisions made under pressure, uncertainty, and change.

The advisors who will lead tomorrow are those who combine:
— Deep technical expertise
— Geopolitical and macroeconomic awareness
— And genuine understanding of how people think, react, and grow

Because a business doesn’t run on numbers alone. It runs on people.
