If you had to choose between: A plot 10 km from the main road at a lower price, or a plot just 800 m from the main road at a higher price, which one would you choose, and why?
I genuinely want to hear your reasoning.

A young man walked into our office today looking for a job. He came nervous, but he knew exactly what he wanted. He didn’t meet our standards yet, but he had something rare: drive. We don’t just build businesses for generations; we build people too.

The wealthiest people don’t always buy real estate because they have money. Sometimes, they have money because they understood real estate before everyone else did.
So, stop always using the lame excuse of “I do not have money”.

Consistency Is Not the Whole Story

We often hear the phrase:

“Consistency is key.”

And I agree.

But I think there is something we sometimes forget.

Consistency in the wrong direction can also keep you in the same place for a very long time.

When I first arrived in Yaoundé, I noticed a man in one of the neighbourhoods I lived in.

Every day, he sold coconuts and coconut oil.

Same location.

Same bench.

Same routine.

Years passed.

More than 10 years later, I could still find him doing almost exactly the same thing.

And that made me reflect.

There is something admirable about someone who shows up every day. There is discipline in that. There is resilience in that.

But it also made me ask a different question:

What if consistency is only taking us deeper into a place we were supposed to outgrow?

Because not all progress is visible through repetition.

Sometimes growth requires a new skill.

A new strategy.

A new market.

A new way of thinking.

A seed that stays in the soil forever is consistent.

But it was never meant to remain a seed.

It was meant to grow.

I think the goal is not simply to be consistent.

The goal is to be consistently learning, consistently adapting, and consistently moving toward something greater.

Because staying committed to the same thing for years is not always evidence of success.

Sometimes, it is simply evidence that time has passed.

Consistency gives power to your actions. Make sure your actions are taking you somewhere worth going.

I attended an event recently, and something quietly caught my attention.

The room was filled with intelligent people.

Everyone had paid to be there.

Everyone had come to learn from someone whose experience they respected.

But as the session unfolded, I noticed something interesting.

Many people seemed eager to speak.

Questions were asked before previous answers had settled.

Thoughts were shared before ideas had fully developed.

Sometimes, the conversations added value.

Other times, they interrupted the very reason we had gathered.

As I sat there, one question kept playing in my mind:

Did we pay to speak… or did we pay to listen?

That question stayed with me long after the event ended.

It made me realize how easily we confuse being noticed with becoming better.

There’s a difference.

Speaking may make people remember your name.

Listening may change the way you think.

And if you’re fortunate enough to sit in front of someone who has spent years learning what you hope to understand in a few hours, perhaps the greatest contribution you can make isn’t your opinion.

It’s your attention.

I’ve noticed that the people who grow the fastest aren’t always the ones asking the most questions.

They’re often the ones listening so deeply that they leave with answers other people never heard.

Sometimes, the smartest person in the room isn’t the one who speaks first.

It’s the one who knows when silence is the better teacher.

When was the last time you listened, not to reply, but to be changed?

The Power of a Proper Introduction

One small thing I believe we all need to relearn is the art of introducing ourselves properly.

Recently, I thought about how often we reach out to people we have never spoken to before.

Someone sends:

“Hi.”

And waits.

Then another message comes:

“Hello, are you there?”

But the person on the other side has no idea who you are, why you are contacting them, or how they can help you.

A proper introduction is not just about manners.

It shows consideration.

It tells the other person:

“I value your time enough to explain why I am here.”

A simple message like:

“Good afternoon, my name is ____. I came across your work and I would like to discuss ____. Please let me know when you have a convenient time.”

can completely change the way a conversation begins.

It makes you appear prepared.

It reduces unnecessary back-and-forth.

And most importantly, it allows the other person to understand how to respond.

In a world where everyone is fighting for attention, clarity has become a form of respect.

Sometimes, the smallest habits reveal the biggest things about us.

The way we introduce ourselves.

The way we ask for help.

The way we approach people.

These little details communicate who we are before we even say much.

Courtesy is not only about being polite. Sometimes, it is simply about making things easier for others.
