Fraudsters continue to impersonate the CRA through phone calls, emails, and text messages in an attempt to steal personal or financial information.

A few reminders from the CRA:

🔹 Be cautious of unexpected calls, texts, or emails claiming to be from the CRA
🔹 The CRA will not use threats, intimidation, or aggressive language to demand payment
🔹 Be suspicious of messages asking you to click a link and provide personal or banking information
🔹 Never make payments using gift cards, cryptocurrency, or prepaid credit cards because someone claiming to be the CRA told you to do so

When in doubt, hang up and contact the CRA directly using information from their official website.
