Godfroy Financial Ltd. - Financial Retirement Specialist Alynn Godfroy (CFP, EPC, CEA, CLU, MFA)
Financial Architect For Canadians I am a licensed financial advisor in Ontario, and Alberta.

I work best with diligent savers who are retired or want to enjoy a “work-optional” life, who have accumulated investments of 300K+ and understand that retirement is too important to manage alone. I help my clients achieve their vision for retirement by relieving the stressful burden of planning to increase their savings and keep more of their hard-earned money in their pockets. My specialty is tax planning. I am a Certified Financial Planner (CFP). I hold the Certified Executive Advisor (CEA) designation, which allows me to provide specific knowledge to an executor/executrix of a will. I also carry the Elder Planning Counselor designation, granting me the ability to offer a complete look at the evolving and specialized needs of elderly clients. My clients come to me when they:

✔Don't have the time, education, or inclination to keep up with the latest tax rules.

✔Need help making financial decisions on when they can afford to retire comfortably.

✔Are concerned about running out of money in retirement and becoming a burden to their family.

✔Become anxious about their investments and whether they have the appropriate risk within their portfolio.

✔Are tired of paying too much in taxes. The landscape has changed for Canadian workers and they have many facets in their lives to deal with. They are tired of putting all of their energy into:

❌Working hard and facing an ever-increasing tax burden.

❌Trying to understand how their investments are taxed to make sound decisions.

❌Working hard and not knowing if they have saved enough for retirement.

❌Fretting about the market and losing a substantial amount of their hard-earned money.

❌Taking care of everyone else but themselves, financially. After working together, my goal for my clients is to:

🎯Have a plan in place to track their financial goals and minimize taxes.

🎯Know how their assets work together based on their risk tolerance.

🎯Understand what they can afford to spend or give to others.

🎯Know that they can enjoy spending time with their family because their finances are in order. I am passionate about finances and helping people. As a teenager, I enjoyed watching the markets, figuring out how stocks work and finding ways to make better trades. Today, my mission is to keep the TAXMAN away from my clients and help them navigate their financial challenges, allowing them to retire with peace of mind. Are you over age 50 and retired or want to enjoy a “work-optional” life? In addition, are you a diligent saver with accumulated investments of 300K+ and understand that retirement is too important to manage alone? If you have answered YES to the questions above, I invite you to send me a message or schedule a quick 15-minute call where we can chat about your needs. Five steps to a solid retirement plan: secure your own future first, stress test assumptions, strategize fund sources, consider tax/legal impacts, and communicate with family. What do you want your money to accomplish, now and later?

10/22/2026

Giving can be tricky and put your own retirement at risk. Unplanned gifts can create tax problems or family tension. Once the money is gone, it's gone for good. Learn how to give with love, wisdom, clarity, and a solid plan.

10/20/2026

When considering a gift, ask yourself: Will it bring clarity or confusion? Where is the money sourced? Could selling or withdrawing create tax issues? Is it a gift, loan, or inheritance advance? Crucially, have you consulted your accountant, lawyer, or advisor? Document your intentions clearly to avoid unintended consequences for other beneficiaries.

10/18/2026

Giving gifts can have surprising tax implications. Where the money comes from matters. Withdrawing from an RSP creates taxable income for the giver, potentially affecting OAS clawbacks and tax brackets. Selling investments can trigger capital gains tax. Plan wisely to make the most tax-efficient gift.

Planning can save you money when gifting funds to your child. Gifting from a TFSA has no tax implications. However, gifting from a non-registered account requires considering the adjusted cost base and any capital gains.

10/14/2026

It's tough, but sometimes you have to tell your children you can't afford to keep helping them financially. My concern is that by solving their problems today, we might be creating bigger issues for them down the road. We never want to depend on our kids later in life because we gave too much too early.

10/12/2026

Before you give money away, ask yourself: would this make a bigger difference now or later? Who do you want to help, and what should it accomplish? Consider opportunity, guilt, or fear. And always remember, your parents' financial security comes first.

10/10/2026

Should you give money to your children early? Always treat it as a permanent gift. Ask yourself: 'If I never see this money again, will I still be okay?' If the answer isn't a clear 'yes,' you might not be ready to write that check.
