Most people stress-test their car before buying it.

Very few stress-test their mortgage.

The real question isn't whether you can afford your home today.

It's whether you could still afford it if interest rates rise, rental income disappears, or life throws you a curveball.

Here are 5 warning signs every homeowner should know.

The right partner won’t just change your life.

They’ll help you build a life bigger than either of you could have built alone. ❤️

People think a successful relationship is all about love.

For us, love was just the starting point.

The real magic happened when we decided to become teammates.

We built together when we had very little.

We worked long hours while others were out enjoying weekends.

We saved when spending would have been easier.

We supported each other through uncertainty, setbacks, and sacrifices.

We celebrated every small win because we knew how much effort was behind it.

Over the years, we learned that the strongest relationships are not built on grand gestures. They are built on everyday choices.

Choosing loyalty when things get hard.

Choosing trust when the future is uncertain.

Choosing to communicate instead of giving up.

Choosing to grow together instead of growing apart.

Today, we get to travel, build businesses, chase dreams, and create a life we once only talked about as teenagers.

Not because everything was perfect.
Not because we had all the answers.

But because we stayed on the same team.

Your business made money.

So you start transferring money to your personal account whenever you need it.

Need money for a vacation? Transfer it.
Need money for a car? Transfer it.
Need money for a down payment? Transfer it.

Many business owners assume that because they own the corporation, they can freely move money between the business and their personal account.

What they don’t realize is that every withdrawal has tax implications.

Should it be treated as a salary?
Should it be paid as a dividend?
Should it be recorded as a shareholder loan?

Each option has different tax consequences.

I’ve seen business owners withdraw money throughout the year without discussing a strategy with their accountant. Then tax season arrives, and they’re surprised by a large tax bill or discover that their shareholder loan needs to be repaid within specific timelines to avoid additional tax consequences.

Just because the money is sitting in your corporate bank account doesn’t mean it’s tax-free money.

Before taking money out of your corporation, make sure you understand:

✅ Salary vs. Dividend
✅ Shareholder Loan Rules
✅ Personal Tax Impact
✅ Corporate Tax Impact

A simple conversation with your accountant can save thousands of dollars and prevent unpleasant surprises from CRA.

Making more money is great.

But did you know that as your household income increases, some government benefits can start disappearing?

Child benefits, GST credits, dental coverage, housing support, childcare subsidies, and more.

Understanding the rules can help you plan smarter. 🇨🇦

Nobody really tells you what owning a business actually feels like day to day.

People see the good parts — more customers, bigger numbers, freedom, success. But they don’t see the stress, the second-guessing, the long nights, or how hard it can be to carry the weight of everything yourself.

Some months go really well. Other months feel like nothing is working and you start wondering if you’re even making the right decisions.

Nobody tells you that making money and managing money are two completely different things. You learn pretty quickly how important cash flow is, how fast expenses add up, and why thinking long term matters.

You also realize business changes you.
You become more patient, better under pressure, and more realistic because every problem eventually lands on your plate.

And one of the biggest things you learn?
Showing up consistently matters way more than feeling motivated all the time.

There are plenty of days you don’t feel like doing the work, but you do it anyway because people rely on you and because quitting isn’t really an option.

Owning a business can be rewarding, but it’s definitely hard sometimes.

Respect to every business owner quietly figuring things out while still showing up every day.
