JUST IN: South Korea may delay its 22% crypto tax for the FOURTH time, potentially pushing it to 2029.

A bill from the ruling Democratic Party proposes postponing the tax from January 2027.

The concern? South Korean authorities face difficulties tracking trades on overseas crypto platforms before global tax information-sharing systems are fully implemented.

The presidential office says a delay is under review, but no final decision has been made.

If approved, a tax originally scheduled for 2022 would have been delayed by seven years.

South Korea's crypto tax debate is far from over.

Don't ignore Turkey. A major market crisis is unfolding.

Turkey’s BIST 100 has plunged 27% from its record high, wiping out the entire 2026 rally.

Here’s what’s happening:

The index closed Friday at 11,116.99, down from its record high of 15,204.92.

Bank stocks have fallen 28% from their February highs.

The crisis escalated in September when investment funds reportedly failed to meet redemption payments, triggering a nearly 6% single-day crash and a market-wide circuit breaker.

Regulators ordered the liquidation of 131 funds holding more than 890 billion lira, worth approximately $18 billion.

Nearly 500,000 investors were caught up in the crisis.

Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek alleged market manipulation through certain funds, according to Reuters.

Meanwhile, Capital Markets Board chair Mahmut Sütcü resigned, citing health reasons, before being formally removed from office hours later.

The result? Turkish stocks have erased their entire 2026 rally and slipped below their starting levels for the year.

A record high turned into a deepening bear market in just five months.

The bigger question now is whether this is simply a market correction or a deeper crisis of investor confidence.
