Here’s where people get it wrong: they look at the rate first and the strategy second.

With a fixed rate, you’re paying for stability and knowing exactly what your payment will look like during your term.

With a variable rate, your rate and payment structure can change depending on your mortgage and where rates move. That can create more flexibility, but also more uncertainty.

So the question isn’t simply:

“Which rate is lower?”

It’s:

Which option makes sense for your income, cash flow, risk tolerance and plans over the next few years?

Because the lowest rate today isn’t automatically the best mortgage for you.
