👀 When your finance infrastructure hasn't kept pace with your growth, the cracks start to show.

A North American contract research organization came to us managing two separate QuickBooks Desktop files — one for Canada, one for the U.S. Multi-currency accounting was done manually in Excel. AP approvals happened by email. And with two completely different chart of accounts structures across both entities, consolidated reporting wasn't just difficult — it was impossible.

We designed a two-track migration strategy: a fully custom approach for the Canadian file to resolve historical data integrity issues, and a streamlined migration for the U.S. file. Both entities were mapped to a single unified chart of accounts, with Dext integrated across both for AP automation.

The results:
✅ Foreign currency handled natively — no more Excel exports
✅ AP automated through Dext across both entities
✅ One unified GL structure across Canada and the U.S.
✅ Foundation set for consolidated reporting and job profitability analytics

An evening well spent with the next generation of business leaders. ✨Thank you Hill Business Students' Society for putting on this fantastic event!

Our team was proud to once again sponsor two tables at the University of Regina's 52nd annual HILL Dinner, where business students sit down with Regina's business and community leaders and build the connections that shape their careers.

This year's HILL Award recipient and keynote speaker was Michael H. McCain, Executive Chairman of Maple Leaf Foods sharing insight with a room of 300+ students and industry leaders at the Conexus Arts Centre.

Once again, we're reminded of how supportive and impactful this industry is, and how fortunate we are to be part of it every day.

"My goal is to keep gaining experience and knowledge while continuing to grow professionally alongside our team."
Riley holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from the University of Regina, with experience across Co-op Refinery, Casino Regina, and the Government of Saskatchewan giving him a well-rounded view of accounting before joining The Corner Office
