Passing the Torch

For many years, John Swain has been the public face of Swain CPA. But behind every year-end meeting, ‘Inspiration’ session, and success story has always been an exceptional team — especially Michelle Mansfield and Samantha Eldridge, who have long been the driving force behind the firm’s day-to-day excellence.

John is excited to share that ownership of the firm has now transitioned to Michelle and Samantha through a planned management buyout. It’s a natural evolution — built on trust, shared values, and a deep commitment to small business.

While John is stepping back from ownership, he is not stepping away. He will continue working alongside the team, focusing on business coaching, strategy, and helping entrepreneurs build stronger, more valuable companies.

As part of this next chapter, the firm will soon be operating under a new name: Swain Mansfield Eldridge CPAs (aka: S.M.E. CPAs Inc.) A name that reflects both a dedication to Small & Medium-sized Enterprises (S.M.E.) and the leadership team guiding the firm forward.

As we move into a new year, John is incredibly proud of what’s been built — and even more excited about what’s ahead. This change isn’t an ending; it’s a renewal.
