Stef and I were out to dinner last week, where pretty much an entire section of the restaurant overheard two people, seemingly friends, talking about their finances.

They were both convicted in their logic, citing the same reference that every financial professional does when they're faced with questions they don't know: Reddit.

I'm being facetious.

Almost everything that I heard was wrong, and while I wanted to say something, it wasn't the time, nor place. When I read this, I thought of those same two people.

Did the sound of it in your mind make you cringe? I can appreciate that. Truth be told, I wish it were called something different.

Not everyone views finance through the same set of lenses as a Financial Planner does, but there can be tremendous advantages in policies that are placed CORRECTLY.

How it is implemented is what differentiates a policy as something that is merely sold by an agent, and a financial instrument which bolsters your financial portfolio.
