Susan Carson, CFP CIM CIWM RIAC FCSI Portfolio Manager, Investment Advisor Trusted expert providing integrated wealth planning & management to build and protect your wealth.

Susan brings a unique energy and instinct for clients to every interaction. For nearly 25 years, she’s helped clients align their values and goals, needs and wants, and translate those into a living, evolving wealth plan. Specializing in meeting the needs of professional women, healthcare professionals and retirees, Susan couples her personal life experiences with empathy to help clients move forw

ard with wise decisions. Susan started her career in commercial design after graduating from Mount Royal University, Faculty of Interior Design. Through that, she learned the key to a successful project and a happy client is to thoroughly understand the client’s needs and the parameters of the project and then incorporate these elements into a plan that meets those needs; on-time and on budget. It taught her the value of listening to your client and other attributes that have become ingrained in her practice. After being a client to six different investment advisors and financial services companies in three provinces and still not finding the type of compassionate and thorough advisor she was looking for, Susan decided on a career change, and started in the investment industry in 1997. After numerous years of running her practice parallel to Rick’s the pair decided to merge their practice into one. Drawn to Richardson Wealth’s deep sense of family values and Canadian legacy, the Morson Carson Wealth Counsel moved their practice to the firm in 2021. In addition to her degree in interior design, Susan has the Chartered Investment Manager (CIM), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), Certified International Wealth Manager (CIWM), Fellow of Canadian Securities Institute (FCSI), Real Wealth Manager (RWM), Responsible Investment Advisor Certification (RIAC) and Elder Planning Counselor (EPC) designations. She is proud to call the Comox Valley home and is passionate about contributing both personally and professionally to this remarkable Valley. Susan enjoys cycling, cross-country skiing, travelling, spending time with family, friends and playing with her grandchildren. An avid reader who is committed to life-long learning, Susan is currently studying how to apply behavioural finance insights to her work with clients.

We are proud to support the Comox Valley Transition Society!

Helping women, families, and children is a priority for us at Morson Carson Wealth Counsel. That's why we support the Comox Valley Transition Society and their events, including the 4th annual Art in the Vines Fundraiser. Held at 40 Knots Winery in Comox on September 13th from 5pm-9pm, the funds and awareness raised support important programs and services for women and children in our area who have experienced domestic violence. Get your tickets now and enjoy a beautiful evening in the vineyard, with dinner on the terrace, a makers panel with local tastings, and stunning Pop Up Art Shops.

As part of our commitment to the arts in the Comox Valley, we're pleased to showcase the work of Marianne Enhörning. Born in Sweden, she is deeply influenced by her family heritage. Marianne has spent many years alternating her time between natural and urban environments: on the West Coast as a kayak guide, and in cities working in architecture. She creates evocative, dreamlike works in mixed media that are figurative, nature-influenced, and abstractly architectural. Her art emerges from her deep sense of longing for a world that is inclusive, equal, and just: a world that is kind and simple. You can see more of Marianne's work at enhorningdesign.com.

The next generation 😊

The next generation 😊

Passion. Dedication. Discipline. These are a few of Stephen Morson’s characteristics, honed through years of competitive cross-country skiing at the national level and fueled by backcountry adventures, rock-climbing, hiking, snowboarding, golfing, and playing hockey.

Stephen, who has a political science degree from UVic, started in the wealth management industry in 2015, and joined the family firm three years later.

“I focus on entrepreneurs and professionals in health care, trades and other high-value sectors who are at the early stages of building wealth,” Stephen explains. “I work with people typically in their 30s and 40s who are balancing mortgage payments and debt reduction, maximizing their tax savings and tax strategies, and working with those who have a long investment horizon.

While retirement is typically far into the future for Stephen’s clients, creating and accumulating wealth relatively early in life is critically important. Part of Stephen’s process is assessing a client’s needs and goals, and then coming up with a plan that represents their priorities while being flexible enough to change as life does.

In addition, by joining the family firm, Stephen is helping to provide continuity for when Rick Morson and Susan Carson eventually transition into retirement, helping clients with their wealth strategies and financial legacies for generations to come.
