🐾 A Message From Mr. Gibbs

I would like to address a rumour I've been hearing around the office.

Apparently, some people think that because tax season is over, everyone gets to relax.

Unfortunately, that is not how this works.

Mom still has bookkeeping.
Mom still has payroll.
Mom still has HST returns.
Mom still has corporate year ends.
Mom still has clients who start emails with:

"I know it's after tax season, but..."

As Chief Executive Treat Inspector, I can confirm that accounting never actually ends.

It just changes forms and continues to interrupt nap time.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have an important meeting scheduled with a sunbeam on the living room floor.

I'm back! 💜

If you've noticed I've been a little quieter lately, I took a small step back to celebrate my birthday and recharge for a few days.

As a small business owner, it can be hard to hit pause. There's always another email to answer, another tax return to finish, another bookkeeping file waiting on the desk.

But sometimes the most productive thing you can do is take a breath, spend time with the people you love, and come back refreshed.

Thank you to everyone who has been patient while I took a little time for myself.

If you’ve emailed me recently and thought, “Wow, Paige disappeared.”

Respectfully… I did. 😂

This tax season pushed me harder than expected, and burnout hit pretty hard behind the scenes. But even during the chaos, I was still here working late nights, helping clients, meeting deadlines, fixing bookkeeping messes, and trying my best to keep everything moving.

Small business ownership sometimes looks polished online. Sometimes it looks like crying over QuickBooks at 11:30 PM while reheating coffee for the fourth time.

Thank you for sticking with me while I catch my breath and get caught back up. 💜

Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms, stepmoms, grandmas, bonus moms, dads doing double duty, pet moms, and every woman out there holding life together with caffeine, chaos, and pure determination. 💐

To the moms running businesses, raising babies, raising grown adults who still can’t find the ketchup in the fridge, surviving school drop-offs, laundry mountains, emotional support calls, and somehow still answering “what’s for supper?” every single day — we see you. ❤️

Today is for the women who make life softer, stronger, warmer, and louder all at once.

I hope you get a little peace, a little appreciation, and maybe at least one meal you didn’t have to cook yourself. 🌷✨

Tax season ended and apparently Mr. Gibbs took that personally.

We took a little breather after April 30th to recover from the chaos, the caffeine, the spreadsheets, and whatever mental spiral led Mr. Gibbs to give himself this absolutely unhinged haircut.

We’re slowly getting back to normal over here at P.R. Tax & Accounting, catching up on messages, wrapping up final items, and trying to convince Mr. Gibbs that “post-tax-season identity crisis” is not a valid grooming strategy.

Thank you so much to everyone who has been patient, kind, and understanding while we took a moment to recharge after one of the busiest seasons yet. We appreciate you more than you know. ❤️

Now if anyone needs us, we’ll be rebuilding our sanity one email at a time… and hiding the scissors from Mr. Gibbs.

I just need everyone to pause for a second.

Because somehow… against all odds…
we made it through tax season.

Barely. Emotionally unstable. Slightly dehydrated.
But we made it.

And that is largely because of YOU.

The ones who:

sent documents at 11:58pm with “hope this is everything 🤍”
said “I’m so sorry” 14 times before handing me a crumpled envelope of receipts
realized on April 29 that taxes are, in fact, real
and trusted me anyway

Like??? The audacity. The chaos. The faith. I love it.

But genuinely—

Thank you for trusting me with your numbers, your stress, your “I think I forgot a T4,” your “I haven’t filed since 2018 but I’m ready to emotionally heal.”

This job is not just numbers.
It’s people. It’s stories. It’s fixing things that felt overwhelming.

And you let me do that for you.

Which is wild. And I don’t take it lightly.

So whether you were organized, late, confused, stressed, or thriving (rare, but I saw a few of you)—

If your taxes aren’t filed… they’re late.

And I know some of you just felt your soul leave your body reading that.

Relax.

Late is not the end of the world.
Late is just… late.

You’re not in trouble.
You’re not ruined.
You just need to deal with it.

Send your documents.
We’ll file it.
We’ll fix what needs fixing.

And next year?

We’re not doing this last-minute panic spiral again.

So… it’s April 30 tomorrow.

Not next week. Not “soon.” Tomorrow.

And somewhere out there, a large group of people just went:

“...oh.”

If that was you — stay with me.

Because this is usually the part where your brain starts spiralling:

“I’m so behind”
“I should’ve done this weeks ago”
“This is going to be bad”

And then instead of doing anything… you just sit in it.

Let me interrupt that real quick.

👉 Being late is fixable.
👉 Avoiding it is what makes it worse.

That’s it. That’s the tweet.

Right now, you do not need:

a perfect set of documents
a colour-coded spreadsheet
a personality transformation into someone who “has it all together”

You need about 10 minutes of courage and the willingness to send what you have.

Messy is fine.
Incomplete is fine.
“I don’t even know where to start” is literally my starting point.

Because behind every “I messed this up” client…

…is a file that just needs to be opened, sorted, and handled.

No drama. No shame. No lectures.

Just:

👉 Let me deal with it
👉 Feel your blood pressure drop within 24–48 business hours
