Society Registration :
To register a society/Foundation in Bangladesh (e.g., for charitable, literary, or scientific purposes), you need at least 7 members.
You must obtain a Name Clearance from the Registrar of Joint Stock Companies and Firms (RJSC) and submit the Memorandum of Association (MOA) and society bylaws.
*Step-by-Step Registration Process*
*Name Clearance*: Visit the official RJSC Name Clearance Portal to apply for a unique name. Pay the clearance fee (around BDT 230) at a designated bank. The approved name is reserved for one month.
*Draft Documents:* Prepare the Memorandum of Association and the society's Rules and Regulations/Bylaws. These documents must be certified by at least three members of the governing body.
*Submit Application:* File the documents with the RJSC. You will also need to submit a list of the governing body members (names, addresses, and occupations).
*Pay Fees:* After submitting, you will pay the necessary government registration fees and stamp duties based on the scale of the society.
*Receive Certificate:* Upon successful verification and security checks by law enforcement agencies, the RJSC will issue a formal Certificate of Registration.
*Note*: If your society intends to receive foreign donations, you will also need to register with the NGO Affairs Bureau (NGOAB).
*Alternatively,* if it is a voluntary social welfare organization, you may need to register under the Department of Social Services (DSS).
